Well someone was babbling on a com about a 4 energy core exploit that is going on.

I saw this once before and reported it. Dan was this ever fixed?

was just going to make a thread about this, there appears to be away to put more modules on than the limit allows. I have no idea how it is done, but have noticed several player using this.

It gives the players that do this a massive advantage over other players as i've seen player with 7 reactors on and 6 relays, also with more weapons and thrusters on giving a larger attack and defence.

I have booted 2 players from the legion for using this so far, but i have no idea how many more players are using this technique to get ahead in the game.

Something needs to be done about this.

Are you referring to the power cores and normal cores? Or normal cores by them selves?

We're referring to the non-npc modules that increase your max energy, Obscura. We've seen players that have had eg. four Antimatter Reactors equipped, when the limit is three standard power cores. Same goes with the weapons, with the player(s) having eg. 9 Singularity Launchers equipped, when the limit is 8 standard weapons.

I know of at least three people that have used this exploit, although we also had a suspicion that one of the people that Mento mentioned above was also a multi-accounter, so it could have been the same person using all three accounts. I reported him to Dan and Dan dealt with him. But there is definitely some kind of exploit relating to the modules. I don't know if it is specific to energy, weapons, and defense, or if it can be used on all of them (I know i'd focus on equipping extra energy, weapons, and defences first if I was using it), so we need to know if the exploit has been closed or not.

...I suppose this is an issue where Que Continuum and the Paladins are united, Chakotay. We don't stand for cheats.

Interesting, I do not see how one can do it. But I agree it is an unfair advantage. Who is doing it? I would like to help make their game play miserable.

I have no idea how it's done either. The person that I saw and reported has been dealt with by Dan though, so I won't point any names. I did take a screenshot at the time, however. I've erased identifying info on this person and hilighted the cheat:

I believe I've seen this as well, though at the time I assumed it was a glitch or something so I didn't worry about it.

The guy was actually in my legion when we first noticed. We asked him to stop doing it but he wouldn't. We then kicked him out of the legion and reported him. If anyone else sees someone doing this, i'd ask you do the same.

Also note that I took this screenshot a few weeks ago, so the rank isn't identifying info. He might not even be the same race anymore.

+1 for policing your own crew.

If everyone wants chat-free players and legions, everyone needs to keep an hawk eye out for those who cheats so they can be dealt with accordingly.

So I did a little spreadsheet!
His energy charges at 138.46/hour!
I don't believe it! He should be way higher than rank 290. Unless he just started the exploit. Follow him for a week and see how fast he ranks up!
Also can not believe he isn't using Silthion T-Plasma Hub's if he add 3 of them then he would go to 211.76/hour!

DAN you need to look into this. Maybe the display is incorrect. At least let's hope it's the display because if not either I want mine or I QUIT! This cheat/exploit is just beyond unfair!

Also just call the person out. Use their ship name. Maybe their is an explanation.

Brian, Dan DOES know about this. I reported the guy and Dan gave him a warning. He also removed his "spare" modules at the time. I also took the screenshot several weeks ago, and as Mento pointed out he has levelled a lot since then.

The guy is a good player, and definitely knows how to work the game. Unfortunately that's also the problem with him, and he's quite simply a cheat. Way to go for practically shouting out who he is, Mento.

Damn shame DAN didn't just send him back to Rank 290 besides the warning. (concept of ill gotten gains)

Or he can do what many other games do with cheaters: full character reset.
Let's hope he changes his ways before that happens...

Dan should reset his account regardless of whether or not he changes his ways. This is cheating plain and simple.

just like multi accounting.
I hope none of the members on my legion does it.

I wonder if this has something to do with the page flashing to the white text look when it reloads these days.
