A base without any real hull, would it get locked more or less often do you think ? If it's going to go down anyway every 2-3 days, I don't see much point in paying the upkeep on modules. This can change if you have a bunch of fixers, I guess 10+, then it can be possible to stop all but the strongest attacks if you have full modules. I am talking about a L7 or L8 here.

For the bigger/stronger base groups yes. A weaker legion might skip due to the level alone, but if word gets out you do have a glass base they might lock you any way. If you decide to build the mods post-lock you might defend them off or they might just ask one of the bigger base groups to take you down any way.

Personally I love glass bases, but there is always that one minion....

"OMG guys, I was hitting for 600 and then it was dead. Sorry."-Derpy Minion

"There was an announcement, several mentions it was glass in chat and the fact you were hitting for cap every time...maybe you should have thought to stop after the first 3 hits."-Frustrated Leader/Officer

"DERP"-Derpy Minion

"I missed it!" -Angry Minion(s)

From my legion's perspective a glass base is not a deterrent, we hunt them. Since it takes 2 red badges to find a base we have base hunters that look at numerous before locking. We can't see the state of the base but can see the state of the legion that owns it. We have locked glass lvl 5 and lvl 6 bases. And many "budget" bases. We fill the attack list and set a time to jump on and disable them. So if you want to leave it glass, we appreciate it! Easy badges and crates are welcome. Yes, we keep a list.

We have a penalty for overhitting on glass bases. It doesn't happen often. Derpy Minion learns quick or goes elsewhere...

If you can figure out how to avoid getting locked and disabled let us know. Funny how we can make whole planets invisible but bases hang out there for anyone to find.

Being glassy just changes the type of basing group that targets you. There are legions that like chewy bases, and legions that like milking a glass base. The two groups are large enough that there will be lots of locks either way, but I think (pure speculation here) there are more legions that like to milk glass because they don't have enough serious basers to take out a heavy base. So if you asked me, being glass makes you more likely to be locked. I would suspect that known glass is locked more than once a day on average.
