HI,

I have been playing on and off for afew months now. However I have a question, what do I have to do to get the good planets everyone talks about? I heard that that should a) only get planets that are Rich and very large or better and b) aim for artifact. Now I again only very casual, have 52 planets on scan and have 3 planets that match the above requirments (2 gas and 1 owned by someone else) am I doing this wrong or do I need a higher scan stat or something to find the planets you all talk about?

Here's my planet taking guideline-

Gas: Very massive only.

Barren- Don't take.

Oceanic- Don't take unless it's has mega rich something or other and is Very Large or more.

Desert- Very large/Rich+

Icy- Very Large/rich+

Exotic- Has to have pretty high availability, and preferably larger size.

Terra- Very Large preferred, but pretty much anything's good (There are a lot of sucky ones around, of course).

As for those very good planets, you gotta be Crazy lucky to find them.

Scanning for planets (purge and re-scan as necessary) can eventually get you all the VL Rich you need. After that, you either get lucky, build them, or buy them from someone who built them. NPC will give a slow but steady flow of terraformers, but thats hard for newer players who don't have a 10K+ energy bar.

If you want to swing by The Unkown real quick, I can alert a Very Large 15X mega rich mining toxic for you. Just because I'm a nice guy and I don't use planets for mining any more.

Remember, the average size and richness is average/average, so your scans aren't going to be seeing VL/VR planets every other scan. Add in the fact that other people take and improve, cloak, or defend them and you see why they can be a little hard to come by at low levels. My suggestion would be to ask in your legion if anyone has any planets they might not want and to lower your standards a bit on some. At your rak planets are cheap to take so its better for you to take some planets to fill you slots. I'm not saying take every tiny planet you see, but a Large/Rich arti oceanic wouldn't be a terrible waste for you.

I have found that if u remove the unwanted planets from your star charts ( using a star chart remover, arti ) that will increase your chances of for a good planet scan, also research scanners and when you're ready to do another scan install them. After you're done your scan you can uninstall them, as they do take up too much space on your ship.
Another good tip is to use as many arti's that will boost your scan ability, such as : Subspace seekers,Continuum Beacons,Stryll Seekers & Tachyon Cylinders. :D

As far as what planets to take, try to stick with planets of high value. Research planets are always good to have as it will help you research better mods for your ship & planets.

Just wondering..... I was thinking about maybe giving you a couple of good planets. Are you in that legion by yourself?

The Legions Name is beast, the Bases name is Euphoria. THank you for all your input and support. At this point in time I am not sure what to reserch as I have been doing alittle bit of everything, However I am starting to think that working towards AI so I can start to level my base up would be a wise idea.
