I've heard that T-Plasma guns do a % damage that will help in combat. Assuming the target has 15k-20k hull, there is a 6.2% chance that you will do 1500 to 2000 dmg if you have all 3 T-Plasma guns equipped.

I'm currently rank 258 with 1615 energy with all relays and ion pulse guns off. I am almost done with the Into the Expanse mission. Is there a way I can get at least 1 out of 3 T-Plasma guns by rank 300-350?

By the way, would 1k+ scan help me find the Hybrid Larva?

Well first you have to find the Slithion Hybrid Larva (to unlock the mission), which is an Extremely Rare NPC. I'm rank 668, and I'm still actively looking for the pesky bug.

Unless you get extremely lucky finding it, there is no chance you'll get them that early on. Also, as a side note, once you find the Hybrid Larva, you're required to hunt more NPCs to complete the mission.

Would slow ranking intentionally help give me more time to find this "pesky bug?"

technicaly if you had the scan on all the time then you could just freeze rank for it and look as the other ncps expire. but if you mean use energy to pvp or mission or kill bases so your xp ratio is lower no as your get less chances per rank than if you killed the ncps.

I finished my third cannon at rank 400. I unlocked the gemini cannot mission at rank 297. I did a LOT of PvPing in the middle. I reckon if you completely dedicate yourself to NPCing then you could get all Gemini Cannons within 70 ranks of finding the larva.

It requires 1500 scan to find it. If you have 1499 you will wait forever.

Also, you completely missunderstood the idea of the gemini cannons. They have % chance to do damage to someone when he/she is attacking you. They dont give you anything else, other than 150 attack each, when you are attacking.

Only if you have Tactical Remodulation to help speed things up, but even then the best way to find it is to NPC until you do.

This is correct the Gemini Cannons are Defensive not Offensive, and thus only affect pvp.... your the target. :p

Have you been doing a lot of missions? I'm at rank 718 with-> Non-Player Kills 42807
Took about 90 ranks of pure NPCing (well, mostly NPCing) to get all three of my geminis. It's just on how good your luck is.

I found the larva at at around 12k npc kills but I was only able to run over 1500 scan for 7k worth of those kills (I've been told that the average spawn rate for the larva is 1:5000 but I don't know for sure), and it also took me around 90-100 ranks worth of npc hunting to find the drones and complete the 'weaponizing t-plasma' mission (approx. 60k xp from the mission alone).

But first you need to complete the chain that starts with the mission 'aggressive evolution' and at least one completion of the repeatable final mission in that chain 'controlling the silthion', this chain only becomes available at rank 210 and adds at least 150k xp (approx. 20 ranks to complete) and then if you have your 1500 scan going go out hunting and hope you don't get the horrible luck miracle-one and those others have had and do manage to find the larva in just 70 ranks (apparently by rank 300, but I'd say this is very doubtful and more likely to be 2 or 3 times as many ranks as that just to find the larva).

Then there's a 110k energy (150k xp) mission you need to complete first in the silthion hybrids chain that finding the larva will unlock which is another 20 ranks and finally the 90-100 ranks completing the gemini cannons mission, 'weaponizing t-plasma' (someone also suggested this could be done in just 70 if the rng is on your side and you do nothing but pure npc hunting and only the t-plasma mission but I'd count on it being 100 ranks). So if everything falls your way perfectly you could have the cannons by rank 400, but for most mere mortals with average luck the earliest you could expect to have all your gemini canons installed would be closer to rank 500 (and add to this however much energy / xp you allocate to other missions, bases, or PvP along the way).

I found Larva at rank 365ish and had all three cannons by rank 455. Pretty much all I did was steal planets, do the larva mission, hunt drones, and kill bases in that time frame.

cant give you a presice rank, as it was during the The Scruuge season event

so what I was realy hunting for was Zebeeren, Scruuge Despot = Zebeeren's Cannon x2 and Scruuge Hovertanks, the 90 Silthion Hybrid Drones was just a nice bonus


we have 3 season events comming up soon,
The Hallows Bane (Hallowen), with Ephemerar, Bane Stalker = Hall of Torment, Shell of Bane and
Bane Reaver = Megacharged Bane Emitter
Era of Harvest (Thanksgiving), with Sarkonis, Harvest Leader = Sarkonis Barrier, Sarkonis Headquarters
The Scruuge (chrismas), with, Zebeeren, Scruuge Despot = Scruuge Hovertank, Zebeeren's Cannon

and if we are lucky Dan might have added a few new NPC's to these events this year as well


so if you want to hunt for your Silthion Hybrid Drones, I would sugest doing it during one of these events to max your chance of finding some of the Rare NPC's you only have durng these events
and / or combine it with some of the Legion missions where you have to find and kill 10 NPC's to compleet the task

no you don't need any completions, I never did a completion on Controlling the Silthion and still found the Larva

run 2050 Scan, so I had a chance to find Both Silthion Hybrid Larva and Caelon, Dark Dispatcher at the same time
kill NPC's

took me around 14-30 days or so, to find both of them, once I started running high enougth scan to find them

Took 7651 dead NPCs to find Larva. Considering holding off on drone-hunting until October for the holiday stuff.

Question: does anybody know for sure what rank you have to be to see Ephemerar? It's a rank 600 NPC, so it seems logical that you would be able to see it at least 100 ranks earlier, but going through the forums here, it looks like you might have to actually BE rank 600 to see it (which would be very odd for an NPC)...
