So I was thinking about it, and really their ARE some professions that are for all intended purposes better than others, and some races that have the same issue, So I propose this, Each race has a "home world" that each day sends a small stipend to EVERY player of that race, However the total value is fixed and divided by the number of people who are that race, So if your an unpopular race you get more points than a popular race, The Professional association is a similar idea except for jobs instead of race. It fits in to the concept of supply and demand, if their are 100,000 fixersx but only 500 miners than miners would be in higher demand and get a better "pay" as it were. The universe still needs people to do stuff even if that job isn't optmised for pvp/npcing.

Thoughts?

Huh, that is certainly an interesting idea. It makes sense, and it would hopefully help balance out the number of races and professions.

Nice idea but what is the payment in and how much? It would have to be an aweful huge payment to convince a talth excavator to sacrifice the ability to make his own 15x arti planets and a massive +10% boost to your already huge arti income to put up with being a sillixx biologist for instance, just for that additional source of income.

I made a suggestion a while back that gave each race a unique crew and generally gave the less popular races a more powerful type than the popular races.

I was thinking something very large but fixed and divided by all players of that race. So like 100 Billion artifact and reserch and minerals. The number may be way off I don't have the stats of total number of accounts, but this would be like a base divide evenly accept everyone who is your race is a member. Idealy from all 3 resource pools.

Wow, I really like this concept. People have suggested many homeworld ideas but they all revolved around the fact that each player had his/her own homeworld.I like the thought of each race having its own hw and all members of that race could reap its rewards.
However, homeworlds need to be something new and different. I dont think they should give artis, minerals or research. We have planets and bases and other means to obtain these things already.I think most hw ideas have been rejected because they seem too much like mini bases..they could give AP/RP/MP, they could be attacked and disabled, upgraded, ect just like a base. Some even suggested that you could research new tech and get buffs there, but again, thats just like the ctlab and ust, nothing new..

+1 to keeping this topic open. I've always been interested in homeworld ideas and making 1 hw per race is a great idea. If we could just come up with "new" ideas for the rewards/costs/structure of having them I would get involved and support it.

How about Something different it improves the chances of beneficial random events by the difference of the average ratio, So example lets take the 5 starter races, under "idea" situations if everyone was 20/20/20/20/20 nothing would happen, However Each point away from the difference will improve ALL that races chance of beneficial random events (trade hubs, Rift entitys, Life forms. Energy over abundance -5 charge time 24 hours, Universel prosparity +10% production 24 hours ect) while each point OVER the average would not only decrease your chance of beneficial random effects it would make you have a chance of BAD random effects, (example economic collapse -20% production, Big blockade by a npc with no drops, Energy shortage increase energy charge time by +5 seconds for 24 hours ect)

The planets with lower player average get a every life is sacred give them every chance they can! where as the higher more populated races get "survival of the fittest" ideology.

I say we just have racial home worlds, with descriptions about each planet and the sentient race that developed on it. It's more of a content filler than anything else. You can only get the location of each homeworld by becoming a member of the race. Even if you change races, the location is permanently locked in your database. And I'm sure Dan can ask around for anyone who wants to come up with the design and details of each one.

Dan might reverse the whole idea and incorporate taxation to Home World instead......which I think is more realistic.

Personally, I prefer adding political ideologies to add bit more flavor to the game.
