Overdrive Mode is a ship ability where your ship gains 30% extra attack, 30% extra defense at the cost of 40% of your energy bar. The effect lasts 2 hours and has a cooldown timer of 20 hours. The ability puts a large strain on your weapons and defenses, reducing their condition by 20% after the ability wears off. During cooldown time (after the effect has worn off) your attack and defense are lowered by 40% (and the effect can not be removed).

Any thoughts?

Not very thought-through. What about the people with 200K+ base attack already? Let's just give them an extra 60K...

You miss my point. A lot of bases are pretty defenseless already. Adding this is just makes it harder for them.

what about anything below average blows up and damages your hull. Increasing likely and a bigger bang the worst quilty it is.

Your argument is invalid:
-Those who battle level 6s, and level 7s, will tell you that doing so requires a lot of energy, time, and resources. It's not a light task.
-Those level 6 and level 7 bases will tell you that they can defend from such attacks. For a period of time. When properly defended a maxed level 6 (with 10 fixers, also assuming no exo-clamps are used but all ability points are optimized) takes 30,100 hits (over 150k energy) to take down (and that's just the hull). Divided by 10 people capping each hit (which would be unlikely) each doing an average of 3 attacks per second, that level 6 would be taken down in about 17 minutes. And to cap on a maxed level 6 requires a really high attack. And to prove that you would need an attack higher than 200k:

Code:
Damage per shot = tanh( attack*(random(0.6 to 1.666)) / (defense * 5) ) * damagecap


And to those legions with level 6 bases that get disabled very easily they can lock and disable 3 level 3 bases per day. Maximizing their gains and putting all their silvers into exo clamps within 4 weeks they can gain 14,700 shields and 22,050 hull for a combined total of 36,750 extra durability (or 61 extra hits, which would be 2 extra seconds at the attacking rate i described above)

Please tell me more about how this will make it harder for bases to defend when basic fundamentals can be used to improve their bases.

yes but this would make it stupidly eassy. er.. And those glasses make u look fat. 8-) but they make me look sexy.

The deterrent right now is the amount of clicking and time that it will take, messing that up this much just seems like a bad idea.

i thought of something similar a long time ago involving a new energy called Dark Energy with overcharges your ships attacks, it would be limited to everyone and require its own space.
