I was gonna say "Get out of your crap legion" but Nexus of Paragons doesn't look too bad, although you could do better.

My guess is that you don't play much, rank 54 after 1 year is slooooooow and with 185 arti/hr, just not worth it.

Talk to the rank 1500+ in your legion and get some tips from him.

But to put it simply, everything needs work, so..... start putting your research into attack and then use your energy to disable other ships, make sure you only attack the easiest ones you can find (keep away from SSB's) and save up you red badges for Dom Cannons Mk3. After attack then put research into hull. Those 2 are the most important at low ranks

That should keep you busy for the next 5 years, come back then and we'll discuss your next steps.

PS - If you don't already know, put your Rank Points into Tac Officers or Engineers only, nothing else!!

Like Philus said, PvP a lot more. Start collecting red badges for Dom III and yellows for Protean Hull.

You'll also want to work on better production. Generally, you want VL in size and at least Rich or better for quality.

For comparison, I'm rank 51 and my production is 1408 (mining), 58 (artifact, I don't have any good planets to take), and 1064 ( research)

Not sure how a rank 500 compares to rank 50s

Yep, sometimes it will be full of hard ships, log off and come back in an hour to different ships.

Research hull. Pvp and get proteans. Your hull is a bit sucky.
Research def and install a good def module.
If you haven't done so already, join an artifact legion... or join a research legion with a lv6+ base until you're rank 100.

Some things to help you pvp:
- Fill your ship with weapons when fighting, and switch to all hull and defense when you're away.
- Increase your attack by researching better weapons and adding TOs whenever you have rank points.
- If your BT is full of tough ships, you can often get new targets by adding a little scan (or removing scan)
- As suggested above, save your red and yellow badges for Dominion Cannon IIIs and Protean Armories.

Your ship is redeemable. When I first got to work on pvp, I was a laughable with low attack, a larger ship than my peers, and no clue. But it can be overcome. If you focus on pvp for a while, your ship will gain strength from the badge modules.

I notice you mention you're npcing. Its not wrong to go after NPCs with nice drops as you find them, but I think many would agree that at low ranks, you should do as much pvp as possible because badging becomes more energy intensive as you rank up, while NPCing becomes easier, more efficient and more rewarding at later ranks.

Generally speaking, if you focus on increasing your artifact production with scanning more & upgrading your planet structures while also working at pvp, you will find your ship growing stronger. You can't go wrong researching planet structures, sensors for scan runs, hull, and weapons. You can focus on one or two of them at a time, or mix it up between them all, but in the end they will all be very useful to you. I hope that helps you :D

He probably disabled you each day because for him your ship is a really easy disable, and because he can get badges every 12 hours, so i guess luckily he's not hitting you more often.

You have accomplished in a year what most people accomplish in their first month or less, I think you have wasted a year considering you have been sub rank 100 for a year and still think its hard to pvp at that range :D here's what you need to do, if you're not already start dumping points into engineers and a little into T.Os, you didn't post your crew counts, but I think it's safe to assume you have little points in engineers or T.Os. Don't use rank points for decks, cargo, scientists, or helmsman. What you need to do is start ranking up more often and ask some of your higher ranked members for good planets. I'm some of you legionmates don't take research planets anymore, so they'll have plenty to share. Seriously rank up a bunch there is no point at sitting at such a low rank with shitty productions any longer. Considering you have 14 planets and it looks like you have 3, you either need to stop taking bad planets or research planet mods, probably both. Good luck

that is decent advice, but, given this:

the following bit is HORRIBLE advice:

there are a few times when ranking up quickly is appropriate, but your situation is definitely not one of them. when you are already pvp weak (which you acknowledge) ... DO NOT RANK FASTER. figure out what you need to do to make your ship stronger. you can not take away any decks ... so work within that.

as someone earlier posted ... put on the biggest guns you have when you go on a rampage ... if targets are 'tough' ... just tap them once and then refresh the bt. does this sound like a waste of energy ? maybe, but not as much as burning all your energy on a ship that will not go down. if you find a ship that is particularly weak, keep a sidelog of those ones so you can target them as soon as you see them on your battle tab. (another reason to rank slowly ... so that these ships keep showing up instead of dropping out of your rank range). when you have used up all your energy, switch to defense mode while your energy recharges. this may take a day or so ... so do some ice.fishing raiding (see the wiki) or hacking if you are able.

basically, toughen up your ship BEFORE you rank into my battle tab range.

.... Seriously? He probably has no points in crew so he won't be able to raid, and hacking can be done at any rank. I know not a lot of low ranks use traps, but how is David going to pvp without null fuses? (Low arti) You want him to NOT rank faster and sit at sub rank 100 with a few hundred productions? He's been doing that for a year already, and it hasn't done anything for him obviously. He needs to rank up for MORE planet slots so he can hold some better planets. And please I hope that last sentence was a joke he is nowhere near your range, If he ranked up 40ish times, what I was implying by rank up a bunch, he could hold 10 or so more planets and multiply his productions if he scanned quality planets or got some assistance from his legionmates.
