I know this topic has to be around someplace, but I didn't see it so here we go again. At the time of this post I am rank 620 and seeing rank 300's in my bt. Sure, I take them on sometimes because of all the halc I run into and e wasted trying to find a target but I feel bad about it and don't want the temptation. On the flipside I see rank 1000+ and you know my little ship can't take on those guys unless they have spent all their points on energy, but they surely can beat me to a pulp in just a few hits. Is there any way to make the bt more fair? Say, when I badge someone they can badge me just as easily.

I am a similar rank and it is fine as it is. I hit people at the upper and lower end of my BT. Obviously there are fewer high rankers, that I can easily take down, than low rankers.
Also use the high rankers as a measuring stick, ask them what they thought of your ship as they hit you/if they would avoid you in the future.

As a former member of the rank 600 club, albeit almost 2400 ranks ago now, i can say without hesitation that seeing a rank 1k badge me made my day, so if i could have seen more of them on my battle tab back then, then it would've been an even better day.
Players such as Oakland and dark1two used to badge me all the time way back when, and i loved going after them to reclaim that disable.
As to trying to make the bt more fair, well here's the issue with that, these days the battle tab ain't fair.
If i was a rank 600 player these days i would be asking for more higher ranked players on my bt rather than anyone below my rank, simply because everyone and their grandad is trying the SSB route these days, making their ships annoying m-fer's to disable, whereas most of the players 800+ have a lot more decks and those in the 1200+'s have even more decks.
So essentially -1.

So essentially -1. +1 to this, especially regarding SSB.

I agree. I am tired of being arti and mineral food for ships 300-400 ranks above me. I think there should be a cap of 100-150 ranks above and below. It's not fair to lower rank ships to be constantly zeroed by higher rank ships.

I sent a message to Dan asking for more balanced fighting. I hope he considers it.

When you reach rank 3000, which my guess will be never since you probably don't rank that often, in fact you've likely spent 2-3 years getting to rank 400-600 i'm guessing... then that 100-150 ranks will mean you have no targets.

It's not fair to lower rank ships to be constantly zeroed by higher rank ships. Its not the rank. Its the capabilities you are protesting about if you think it through... I see rank 1ks who have less attack than rank 800s often... Not a majority but often... Some people work hard on ship development.... others just don't... Diversity on the BT is a good thing if you got a decent ship... The better your ship the fewer that will try without reason to kill you. Of course the inverse is also true... the easier to kill the more you will be killed... Evaluate your ship... Figure out how to improve it and you'll see a change.... the guys who go after you always you should also hunt and kill until they realize you badge back... Some won't care... Others are stat conscious... those will kill you less often in turn because they get upset if their ratios get screwed up too much it seems. Since its a war game, you must realize its a Darwinian process. As such become the fittest. Oh i'd still be comfortable dying on occasion tho. luck, Fear

The deck advantage is definitely there, I brought down "he who must not be named" yesterday and every 6-12 hits I'd win a battle despite his much better stats
