Hi, So basicly defense is pretty not useful besides pvp. (and even than....) I propose a new type of npc encounter to change that!
The hold the line npcs
basically you have npcs where instead of using your attack stat for damage you use your defense and you need to "fend them off" for a certain amount of damage. This would work like a blockade npc for a legion, where the whole legion has to defend the base (with say a production penalty while the npc is present) and you use your defense stat instead of your attack stat.
i think this has merit as a base entity. my tweaks:
- base entity appears randomly and has a number of hull-eating torpedos based on the legion level
- base production drops by 60% as with planetary entities as long as the base entity exists
- base entity appears automatically on any active legion member's battle tab
- base entity fires a torpedo in response to any attack (but takes zero damage from attacker)
- attacker is hit with a hull-eating virus for as long as the entity exists, which prohibits the use of repair nanodrones or shield restorers (tri.matrix emblem can still be used)
- base entity wanders away once its supply of torpedos is exhausted
- hull-eating virus becomes an inert artifact which can be used to remove 1500 hull from an enemy base (bypassing shields and does not count as base damage on the combat log)
