Just messaged the development team, should get an e-mail back in a few days. I just think this could make galaxy Legion fresh again, and definitely increase the longevity :) Thank you all for your ideas and points up until now

Although Dan has been implementing some pretty decent content lately, there is a history that you shouldnt expect too much out of it. Also with his next plans already stated, it will be a LONG time before something like this is implemented if he were to work on it.

That said, I always give war ideas a huge +1

Could you link that poll as well, please? And yes, it will take a while, but this could be considered MAJOR reworking as it is essentially bringing a whole new game mode. This may end up a couple of years in the queue, but I could wait, as could many others I think.

Thank you, if it gets it seen quicker and puts it in good favour, I'm happy for everyone to see it. I already put it into the comm in my legion, as that is potentially the best place to get publicity.

you know that scene where all the rebels go in to take out the DeathStar and have to run a gauntlet first ? maybe we could have a DarkStar run for each base attack ?

for 2 minutes after each base attack, the attacker can be targeted (anonymously) via the target legion's legion page as a 'gauntlet runner'. each defending ship gets ONE shot at the attacking ship(s) every 2 minutes for as long as the attacker keeps hitting the base. the attacking ship can NOT target the defending ships ... only the base. the code already exists for planet guards. so it just has to be tweaked to appear in association with a base.

heck, i would even lock the EoTS base just to run that gauntlet with my ship :)

That has potential :) Only problem I can see is will it be complicated? Too many features, maybe? This would be a big add-on on it's own. That being said, there is no reason why we couldn't play games within games, to test your ship out by running a gauntlet. I'm just worried about how much coding this all would take, any potential bugs etc
Great idea though, wouldn't have minded running my mate's ship through that gauntlet :P

I like this slightly less but if it would be easier to make happen its still a pretty good idea

Well, all ideas are valid, but you have to think about how much it will be used too. The Gauntlet would be useless for lower levels with a few high level ships in the enemy legion

so i had a sleep on this idea and instead of it turning to mulch overnight ... i had some further thoughts.

the gauntlet runners would appear on the Legion tab > Legion Base > Stats whenever the base is locked. they would be titled Gauntlet Runner 1 ... 2 ... 3 etc with only their rank displayed. the order they appear can either be by most recent attack ... or by most damage done to the base so far ;)

those in the defending legion can decide which of 3 options they want to select:
1. use enemy artifact (containment missile probably ... but you can be creative ...)
2. normal attack
3. hack

so, i could see someone hacking first, then 2 minutes later using the tactical bypass. slows the attacker down some, and the attacker has no way to target those laying down the gauntlet. instead of the defending ship name being displayed on the ship log ... it would just appear as Base Defender xx. Defenders could co.ordinate their efforts to ensure maximum annoyance to the base attacker.

this could also be a chance to introduce / shuffle up the base raid drops. i could see a Gauntlet Vortex arti that could prevent a Gauntlet runner from attacking any bases for 30 minutes. what level crate that should drop from ... maybe level 4 bases ? ;)
