OK, I'll try to make this short..

* Exotic Matter has risen in demand but supply remained the same
* Crimson Obelisk has always risen in supply but there's no demand for so much of it
* Some NPCs drop Complex Tech Parts, so why not change one to Exotic Matter?

*** Please make it so NPCs like Crimson Hawk and Crimson Flamehawk, drop 100 and 200 Exotic Matter instead of Crimson Obelisk. PLEASE !!!!! ? :)

P.S.: This is NOT for people (like me) who can afford to buy and spend tons of EM. This is for people who desperately need a few thousand EM to complete a legion missions and they cannot afford it - and their mining planets don't give them much EM either because of their level. Please support this suggestion if you believe it's better than insane amounts of Crimson Obelisks :)

Well its a good idea, so +1 on that.

-1 on the amounts though, that's nutty. 100 - 200 EM per hawk/flamehawk? Assuming a person can kill 3k NPC's a day, with a ratio of 10% being hawks/flamehawks, that's 30-60k em a day.... aka why bother with mining.

If Dan were to implement this, the values would likely be 5 or 10 EM per hawk/flamehawk, akin to how Rescued Scientists/Specialists grant 5 or 10 scientists.

All of that said, i cannot see Dan doing this, imo the whole reason for the upsurge in EM being required for more things now, and in vast quantities, is to get people to stop focusing on aph so much and to bring mining back to a reasonable level of usefulness.

Not exactly relevant to your idea other than an idea for more EM, but if raiding gives a chance at either Minerals or Artifacts, why not make hacking give either Research or EM? Makes sense to me, even though I hate hacking...

Totally agree, I think the reason dan has made EM relevant is to try to shift the focus from arti to mining to a degree.

I don't like changes like this.

You say it is small but it isn't.

You know, I have to answer this one, since I only kill by using my fingers and all ... I've timed it several times, and if I CONSISTENTLY kill for a full hour it's 400 to 600 NPCs per hour. So saying 3000 NPCs a day means you kill 5 to 7.5 HOURS a day - of non stop NPC killing. Working any market (groups, auctions, etc) 5 to 7.5 hours a day will earn you the equivalent of WAY MORE than 30-60k EM! Besides, 3k NPCs a day is a huge and unrealistic assumption, since nobody kills that many -- and the very few who can, certainly don't do that every day. :P Anyway, it's not a perfect solution, but getting some EM (any EM !!!!) is better than getting absurd amounts of Crimson Obelisks from that thing :P SO... yeah, please implement it Dan!!! :)

this would work better than the npc idea ... unless it was a new npc. the flamehawks are there to make everything else look better ;)

Ok, maybe you can explain to me the logic behind an ethereal action like hacking a computer from a remote location rewarding you with a physical object... :?

New Strategy

Who wants to buy toxic uplifts?
Toxic Purifier (Uses Left: 1206)
I can do a few toxics, guaranteed to increase your mining which will give you more EM.
All you have to do is claim your resources

And i have to call you a slacker then, compared to all the NPC'ers i know. :P

I can easily kill 20 NPC's per minute, that's 1200 NPC's every hour, and i can do that easily. If i get a good bit of 1 shot luck, i can get up to 24 per minute.

Assassin - 1 Shot
Charger - 1 Shot
Runner - 1 Shot
Mylarai Extractor - 1 Shot
RTC - 1/2 Shots
Sha'din Penetrator - 2 shots
Sha'din Shockfighter - 2 shots
Lazuli Harrower - 2 shots
Stryll Trapper - 2 shots
Assassins - 3/4 Shots
Flamehawks - 7 shots

Know your facts about other players before calling something unrealistic. :P Many, many players can do just as many NPC kills as i can, the fact is that they don't because they don't have the time or in most cases don't have the patience to NPC/don't see a reason to NPC(50+% of players are these type of person).

Lastly, i already gave you your solution, add more mining to increase your EM yield from mineral pull, and stop being a whiny biatch. :P

Also, stop doing purger mission/temp flux/LM that require EM if you can't afford to do it. :P

Your personal insults towards me have no merit whatsoever. There are several alertable NPCs which I'd have to lock and since I don't deal the finishing kill, it's time spent with not even a +1 towards NPC kill. But sure, I can also do 20+ NPCs per minute in a "lucky" "many one-shots" type minute, but I (AND EVERYBODY ELSE) cannot keep that exact same pace for an hour non-stop. Not those of us who use our fingers to click and still have nerve endings in their fingers. ;) Also, IF/when someone alerts a Silthion Hybrid Cluster during that hour, that total NPC kills is lowered even more.

Anyway, since you're so intent for insulting me for no reason... I'll have to call you a TROLL - for calling me a slacker and a whiny biatch. I VERY CLEARLY stated in the first post that *I* can afford to do it, and that this idea would mostly help the people who can't afford to do legion missions. As I said:

"P.S.: This is NOT for people (like me) who can afford to buy and spend tons of EM. This is for people who desperately need a few thousand EM to complete a legion missions and they cannot afford it - and their mining planets don't give them much EM either because of their level. Please support this suggestion if you believe it's better than insane amounts of Crimson Obelisks"

Me PERSONALLY, I don't need more mineral planets right now, thanks for that lovely suggestion. I can afford to buy and spend EM, which I already stated... several times now. :P This is not and never was about me. So get your own facts straight and stop acting like an annoying troll. :(

P.S.: kirkeastment, you twisted the issue (low level players needing more Exotic Matter than ever before) into something it's not (me slacking and/or whining about being unable to afford EM, which has NO basis in reality). That plus the unprovoked and baseless insults you threw at me, honestly made me very mad and very sad, just like you wanted. Rejoice in that and please leave me alone now. :)
P.P.S: If I am mistaken and you're not a troll, I personally dare you to try timing yourself for 1 hour several times, and seeing the before and after "Non-Player Kills" from your stats. You'll see that per-minute is very different than per-hour.

Exotic Matter = comes from only one source - mineral output
Crimson Obelisks = come from two sources - NPC and Artifact production

I still think the suggestion to change the drop the obelisks to exotic matter is the perfect solution to adding a little bit more Exotic Matter to the galaxy without affecting the common NPC pool (which would = less dark badges for everyone than if another NPC specifically for Exotic Matter was added).

In order for there to be a solution, there must first be a problem. Exotic matter is not that scarce if you have enough mining output, at least if you aren't trying to make purgers, temp fluxes and do Legion missions that require it all at the same time. If that is what you want to do, then you need to increase your production, not look for a handout.

Should it not then be a case of them not selecting a LM task they cannot afford to do?

If a player is too low ranked, should it not be asked of them to complete a LM more suited to their rank. If that should mean that they can't complete a LM task for that round, then so be it.

It's always the argument that the low levels can't do this or they can't do that, and yet its primarily the higher ranks whom take it upon themselves to complain about the issue.

Fact is the majority of low ranks are smart enough these days to know what they can and cannot do. They know if they don't have the EM, then they won't attempt to do something that will cost EM.

This all goes back to the age old issue that arises every few weeks/months, which is that not all game content is meant to be easily completed by everyone, or in a lot of cases, it's not meant to be completed at all by certain ranks.

As to you getting so upset, grow up. This is the internet, and if you cannot take what was clearly an attempt at internet humour, as shown by the smilies :P , then perhaps creating a forum thread(which as your own words suggest, doesn't even effect you, ) shouldn't have been your first port of call.

This is issues and support true, but how on earth can someone create a thread when said issue doesn't even affect them, and expect to be taken seriously.

Leave it to the persons to whit, the issue actually affects, to take issue with Dan over something.

Also, it's not trolling deary, it's actually saying to people, this is how you fix it so you can actually do things eventually that require mass amounts of EM.

No it should not. The demand for EM has increased dramatically while the supply has not. Ignoring this fact doesn't make it any less of a fact. Ignoring that it's a problem doesn't make it any less of a problem. Besides, problem solving ideas are and should be about mid level players - the "TOO low" and "TOO high" a moot point to discuss here.

kirkeastment wrote:

Obviously, there's no basis in fact here. At all. Of course some know, but certainly nowhere near the majority. But that's just another diversion from the point of this post - the POINT is The demand for EM has increased dramatically while the supply has not - that's WHY most mid level players who used to be able to afford EM, cannot afford it anymore. And my idea is to help increase the supply to balance it out.

kirkeastment wrote:

Riiight .. the "if you don't like it, go away" thing is not an answer and not a solution. Plus - obviously - smilies do NOT show internet humour, there has to be actual humour (or at least humor) involved. If you believed your own tripe, you'd have noticed the smilies in my reply and taken that as humour. Alas, you need appropriate content to appear witty or humorous, not just smilies... winkies might help sometimes... but it's not ALL in the delivery! ;) ANYWAY, my words never suggested it "doesn't affect" me. I stated I can afford the price hike due to high demands, which I can - but it still affects everyone in the game.

kirkeastment wrote:

No, this is Suggestions and Ideas, not Issues and Support. I created a thread because I had a good idea about something that affects EVERYONE. I said I can afford to pay the jacked up prices, that doesn't mean I'm not affected. I didn't have an ISSUE for which I needed SUPPORT - I had an IDEA and I SUGGESTED it. ;) Plus, I'm trying not to be greedy or selfish, and I very much hope it will be taken seriously by the majority. I genuinely question the opposite: How can someone play purely for themselves caring about nobody else, and expect to be taken seriously??? :)

kirkeastment wrote:

Yawn...
*** saying stuff like "if you don't like it, go away" OR "if you can't afford the EM anymore, don't do EM missions" is in no way a fix to the problem.
*** saying stuff like "if it affects you, stop whining" is in no way a fix to the problem.
*** saying stuff like "if it doesn't affect you, stop talking about it" is in no way a fix to the problem.
*** saying you're offering a fix when you're not is ALSO in no way a fix to the problem. ;)

WAKE UP PEOPLE! We are facing a serious Exotic Matter deficit! ;)
OK... Whether you laugh about it, cry about it, troll about it, ignore it, or tell others to ignore it -- it still remains a fact. I just had an idea to help reduce the deficit. :P Noone will miss the extra Crimson Obelisks from those Crimson NPCs, but the vast majority will welcome some extra Exotic matter (it doesn't have to be 100 and 200 EM per kill, but .. something! PLEASE, Dan! ) :)
