Cendant ... you are the one missing the point here. Severely.
What Fear is doing in this thread is EXACTLY what you Tree and Kirk do in ANY thread where EoTS is mentioned, and the sad thing is that here he only mentioned EoTS specifically because: Tree started running his mouth off. Point blank the plank admitted it himself.
So in response Fear brought up the aspersions generally cast upon EoTS because aspersions were being cast on his legion. See how that works?
Step off the high horse or at least realize that if you talk smack about a group of people they are obvious going to send that smack right back at you.
And Tree ... text isn't a picture.
[edit] And here we go with a whine Tree:

See that? That is a 'complaint'.
Complaint: expression of grief, pain, or dissatisfaction.
With that statement you are expressing dissatisfaction. Yes? By the definition that is a complaint, and the way it is worded fits with:
whine verb \ˈhwīn, ˈwīn\
: to complain in an annoying way
As a third party I think its fair to use that quote to explain some of the history for Grump.
In terms of Tree being dense or perhaps just deliberately antagonistic, he pointed out he took a cheap shot re the low ranked fixers in TU. I'm of the recollection he grasped why we recruited fixers (as have several legions in terms of stating preferences for same at certain levels for consideration).
While I don't normally instruct outside of my legion unless i'm debating fine points with someone, allow me to instruct you Tree since it seems you have forgotten what you should know and seem to know based on some comments. Selective amnesia is at least a distraction from trolling/counter trolling... well I suppose you could be trolling via that approach too but hey i'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt since Cen seems to feel i'm not being fair in concluding after so many posts that he gets it but deliberately ducks it...
so when a man really loves a woman.... oh wait... this aint that talk. I gotta have that one later with my oldest...sorry about that. I digress...
Bases can be DISABLED... disabled means that despite having the ability to be defended, that a group or groups of enemies have spent enough time, energy and effort to minimally strip away all hull and shield, possibly if not probably including at least some of all your AP (thats shorthand for ability points) that can be used in base defense, offense, repair and production bonuses...
So get this... Dan set up this crazy system with AP to take into account legion design/membership... You have to have so many of a certain race or profession to use a ability. Or perhaps having more of them gives you greater effect.
So getting on to the specifics... rank of a member means nothing (yet) but a member's loyalty, race and profession can have an effect on base status.
Fixers believe it or not, affect the amount of hull repaired under this ability called "emergency repair". Wild effect. Enough fixers theoretically and you can fix the base in full with just one emergency repair, hull wise.
So yeah we recruited fixers to help protect the base against some really savvy vicious types who like to spend gp, use matrixes and go hog crazy on ship development.
Of course, if we had a bunch of people who had GP to burn I suppose they could just switch professions and/or races as the mood or base lock struck.
Turns out tho, a lot of those guys tend to congregate I am told. In any event, we don't have a lot of those with tons of GP lying around.
Ya know, I really thought you guys would get this, after all in your 26 or so disables (i'm going on rumour on the count, don't hesitate to correct me if i'm misinformed) I'm fairly certain several times I saw members change to fixer. I also have to say its clear you guys put a lot of effort and thought into that base...
I would've sworn you understood the theory. I'm reasonably certain most of the EOTS crew does including Tree, but the temptation to do a cheap shot again just could not be resisted.
Its ok man, if it makes you feel better it can't be all bad and hey, maybe just maybe if you ever actually decide to try and get new blood in the game instead of just hmmm asserting your awesomeness so Cen doesn't try and make a connection again in a epic fail mode, you'll have the chance to use the really simplified explanation I just provided you. I'm not charging copy right fees tho I hope you give me some credit for schooling ya on it.
