Galaxy Legions is a great game, but many of the high rankers complain about how its getting 'stale' and 'repetitive'. There is another facebook game that had a relatively interesting and original approach to making their game fun, and that was adding minigames at the end of very high profile missions. I believe the name of the game was Mercenaries of War, in case anyone wants to check it out, but i propose that a similar approach be applied here.
Their games were rather simple, you have a gun and you have to click on the soldiers who are all standing still or their body is behind cover and they move up and down (extremely easy to program in flash) you have varying time incriments depending on the mission to click on, or 'kill' all of the soldiers. that then finishes the mission and gives the completion reward, or if the player fails then the energy is wasted and the mission must be repeated.
I propose that each time a weekly mission chain is to be completed, a minigame is then played and will determine the players success or failure. If failure the final round would be reset on the last mission. Or, another standalone mission with one single round to completion and energy cost would then be added on to the mission chain which would be this minigame.
Simple flash minigames that i personally know how to do are
-Shoot the Soldiers (a set number of soldiers (flash buttons) would be placed throughout a picture and the player would have to click on all of them before the time runs out
-Where is Waldo (Same principal as shoot the soldiers, a detailed picture is displayed and one or more objects are flash buttons that have to be clicked on in a certain time limit)
-Gambling (a movie clip is played where two 'dice' are rolled, and then random numbers fade in and are displayed on the 'dice'. if the number matches the required number for the mission, then the mission is a success.)
i know there are others, but i do not remember exactly how to program them. anyway, these games would add some freshness to the mission process, and keep older players happy for a little while longer.
