I belive this kind of bug usage is not how the game is intended to be used in the game, but
its being used alot of many people to harras others.

Example 1
A player has a halycon truce effect on them, they can still sit and attack you by throwing all kinds of artifacts, from safety, harrassin others since they cant hit you back. Sure wait an hour and halc is gone.. but thehn they just get another halycon on them and keeps it up.

Example 2
The game lets a player to open a new tab and keep somebody elses ship open for several days so they can sit and farm and harrass one player even when the player should be long gone from the logs and probably not been shown up in the BT since there is alot of players in that range, yet this unnamed player can keep attacking, and farm another player.

I see both this behaviours quite often complained about and been used on me from several people in a couple of the bigger legions.

I agree with problem 1 but partially disagree with problem 2.

I think the game should have a once or twice a day forced refresh that would cause the game to reload in all tabs making problem 2 moot. If people can't open others in tabs, it makes traps TOO powerful and no one at higher levels will be able to get badges.

Same here. As long as they helplessly throw around artifacts, I don't care. They will get what's coming to them soon enough.

I think reducing the power of traps is the whole point of Null Fuses. And I think Dan is working on the problem of multiple tabs, as I've seen a few "webpage restarts" when leaving open a enemy ship for more than a few minutes.

I agree with both of these issues.

1. A player using a halcyon trap should not be able to conduct offensive operations against others while it is in effect.

2. A player should not be able to have separate hit list tabs that can be used to repeatedly harrass other players day-after-day. However, they should be able to use them on a temporary basis to facilitate earning badges. Recommend that each player's account be refreshed, to include multiple open tabs, once daily. (I think a good time to do this would be when the upkeep is due for each player.) This would enable players to keep multiple tabs open for up to 24 hours to facilitate the earning of badges while also preventing players from being able to harrass others repeatedly day-after-day by refreshing the accounts (and tabs) every 24 hours.

I just thought of something. Hiding behind a halcyon effect in GL is as much a legitimate strategy as camping in a FPS. It annoys everyone a lot but doesn't actually count as unbalanced or bullying. And they are still just as vulnerable to hacks as everyone else.

Here is an idea:
have all GL pages refresh when daily reward is taken.
This allows it to be a legitimate strategy at the cost of daily rewards.

Halcyon should work on the same principle as a NAP.

Any action prohibited by a NAP should be impossible while the truce effect is in place.

It makes intuitive sense and the coding should be right there to adapt.

A direct link will attack a person too, as long as they are in your rank range; this is a problem because permission for who you can attack should be from your battle tab and any active alerts, both of which should have an expiration time. It needs to be fixed server side to restrict who you can attack to that list.

Actually, halycon should be changed to just prevent your attacking.. not being attacked. Never made much sense that you can't remove a halycon but the other artis that put you in truce can be. But unless you live in game, its pretty difficult to defend against anyone when you are offline.

It wouldn't change traps at all if you have null fuses, which can still be used while viewing a ship.
