Those popup windows for planets, NPC, etc don't seem to release the memory they consume, so after awhile depending on what you're doing the GL window process (Chrome) or browser in general I've seen it go up to 1.5GB and crash. I'm not sure if there's a way around that; reloading the page will release some of it, but in single process browsers you have to completely exit to release the rest (that's actually why I use Chrome for GL now, since killing the tab kills the process and releases all of it).
To easily reproduce (for Dan): run about 1000 scans (don't matter if they succeed). Check mem usage. Alternatively, open up and close planet list a bunch of times (slower increase).

Yeah I considered that it might be a browser issue, Dan *may* be able to code around it but I don't know how much it affects stability for other ppl. I think ppl with low mem system that don't expect a heavy app, may have probs with it. I usually just monitor mem usage and I have enough it's not an issue, but it affects other stuff running at the same time.

One only needs to click around inside GL to get it up around 1GB ram.. i definatly noticing this on my minipc because it only got 1GB ram, and having GL taking 90%+ of it lags the shiezze outta the computer.

And I have realized that the best way around this is to not leave GL open for too long. I just do what I have to do and close the window, and then I check back in an hour.

If Firefox, it doesn't necessarily release all of it, but a large chunk is the crappy FB flash that's a different issue. Dunno what it does looked like a monitoring flash. Anyway, Chrome or any multiprocess you can close the tab and then reopen it will definitely release all of the GL related memory which is all Dan could possibly control anyway. Task manager can help ppl monitor the usage, but if you do something opening a lot of windows over and over, then just clean up after it.

Yeah you're right, the Memory leak in flash game is really worst compare to Galaxy Legion. My mother have problem playing Farmville because too many craps on her farm. But her computer is near new one.

LOL. I stopped playing farmville because it was so damn slow and took time to load. This thread explains while GL and everything gets slow when I leave GL tab in chrome open in the morning to midday and then shut down Chrome and everything is fast again. It appears I can just close the Chrome tab for GL and that should release the memory; am I correct?

I noticed the flash chrome process also increases over time, and there is a flash for GL, it's for playing the game music apparently (or so the names indicate). I'm not sure why that would leak other than flash sucks that way in all browsers. Replacing the music mechanism to non-flash might help on that one.

Maybe you guys should switch to Linux then, because I dont have any leaks over usage etc.
Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal (x64) and FF 3.6.16
edit**
And if you didn’t get it I was actually pointing out that it has absolutely nothing to do with the game and is in fact a problem windows/browser issues.
