As we have prepared for jumping the Fourth Wave, we must also be ready for what comes before that, so more modifications will be needed to prepare for the worst. Deep space scanners have shown the Third Wave to include an unknown radioactive isotope. Gambram is the strongest alloy used for radiation shielding, but it will require extensive filtering for use in protecting our colonies.

The Third Wave has begun its progress through our territory. A few distress signals are beckoning, and our ship is the only one currently outfitted to enter the radiation safely. The signals are identified as RSL. Perhaps if we rescued them we can get some of their data on Quinosa event.

These strange artifacts seem to hold vast astronomical data, capable of mapping and projecting shifts in planetary locations even along the Hyperflux! Questioning the RSL scientists that we rescued, they said the Ciphers were found in the First Wave, floating around in the debris of a ship dating back to the previous Quinosa Event. They were surprised that the Ciphers were triangulating the position of a ship in the center of the Fourth Wave, and they were out in the radiation to get a more accurate scan signal. If we want to get to that ship, we will need to reconfigure new versions of the Intra-D pistons.

The strange radiation is messing with all of our scanners. We will have to rely on the star maps from the Bervad Ciphers to make our way back to the colonies. This may take a while.

Now that we have once again made it back to the colonies from the dangers of the Quinosa Event, we can work on harnessing this new radiation for tactical application. Some added work will make it very effective, and take up the time while we wait for the Fourth Wave.
