So far, we can have Irradiated Planets from Potent Residuum and Demon Planets from the CT-Lab. What if we can have more types of transformers for different planets? The list of planets that I think needs more transformers from missions or NPCs: (Though subject to change) Metallic Oceanic Exotic Gas Desert
1. Metallic Planets We have a transformer that turns this type of planet into a Dyson but it is extremely difficult to get it without GP. What about another one that does almost the same but easier? Here's what I thought:
Mission: Mercury Discharge -> After Potent Residuum
Reward: Mercury Transformer Effect: Usable on a Metallic planet, it will turn it into a Mercury planet, increasing size by 1 and all productions by 2. If used on a Very Massive planet, it will increase size to Colossal.
2. Exotic Planets: There is no known transformer for exotics probably due to the size and richness. What about a transformer for limited size and resources?
Mission: Exotic Reversion -> After Mercury Discharge
Reward: Exotic Maneuver Effect: Can only be used on an Exotic Planet with stats below Mega Rich and Large size. Turns an Exotic Planet into a Dark Matter Planet, increasing size and all resources by 2. (Great for those who have crappy Exotic planets)
3. Oceanic Planets To transform a planet into an Oceanic planet, you need either a Mass Surface Melter or a Octafari Hydroshifter. What about pure, natural Oceanic Planets?
Mission: Oceanic Weather -> After Exotic Reversion
Reward: Oceanic Evaporator Effect: Can only be used on a natural Oceanic. Turns an Oceanic Planet into a Storm Planet, increasing size by 1 and all resources by 2.
4. Gas Planets There are no known transformers for gas planets. Why not make one for them?
Mission: Gaseous Intensifier -> After Oceanic Weather
Reward: Gas Intensifier Effect: When used on a gas planet, it turns it into a Plasma Planet. If size is below Very Large and research is below Rich, size +2 and research +2 If size is above Large but research is below Rich, size +1 and research +2 If size is below Very Large but research is above Extremely Abundant, size +2 and research +1 If size is above Large and research is above Extremely Abundant, size +1 and research +1
5. Desert Planet There is only one known transformer and that's the Gamma Crystallizer. What about another one with different stats?
Mission: Amorphous Research -> After Gaseous Intensifier
Reward: Amorphous Transformer Effect: Used on a Desert Planet, turning it into a Glass Planet, size +1 and all resources +2.
Maybe some new generations of Extremely Rare NPCs can have these in their cargo.

As there has been 2 whole threads of new planet ideas, these were the ones I suggested: Nebula: made by using a Stellar Reactor on a gas planet, raising research by 3 and size by 3. (it becomes the shapeless colorful cloud of a nebula) Gold: made by using a Planetary Aura artifact on a metal planet, raising its artifact and mineral resources by 4. (and turning it gold of course) Trizotica: made by using a Tridium Igniter artifact on a exotic planet, raising its size by 1 and all resources by 3. (the purple clouds change into yellow, purple, and blue neon colors) Wishing Star: made by using an Ambition Engine artifact on a dyson planet, raising its size by 1, all resources by 4, and giving it 5000 passive attack, defense, and cloak (a bright white light glows from the dyson in a grid-like pattern, see Zophah Saga part 4) Magnus: made by using a Forge Missile artifact on a volcanic planet, raising it's size by 3 and mining by 3 (massive refineries spontaneously built all across the surface)

I like the sound of glass planets. Just sounds kinda cool.
How about Jungle Planets, or Death Worlds (Low population, hard to invade, no Mining possible.)
Asteroid Belt (High in one random production, impossible to defend.). Yes, as a Planet Type.
Binary Planets: a rare paired planet system.
Relic Planet: the planet is actually an old space station or derelict ship. Automatic Defenses, and planet can be played out (I.e, it only lasts for so long before you strip all possible research from its data banks, convert all it's systems into Artifacts, and scrap everything that's left for minerals.
Artificial World: A mission specific one that takes a bunch of CTP and Exotic Matter and turns it into an artificial planet. The Mission would have 10 completions and each of the resulting artifacts could be used to either create a new small planetoid or upgrade an existing Artificial world. So you could have 10 average Artificial worlds or 1 Incredible one, or 2 damn good ones or anything in between.
Living Planet: The planet is actually a massive organism. Boosts the population of all your other planets, takes a planet slot but produces no resources.
Fleet Base: The planet is actually a massive hub. Boosts the Invasion Defense of all your other planets, takes a planet slot but produces no resources.
Veil Generator: The planet is actually a modified Grid Pylon. Boosts the Passive Cloaking of all your other planets, takes a planet slot but produces no resources.

I like this idea alot, and between this and that Space Weather idea i was reading the other day, i think it would bring a cool new twist to the game. plus i like the idea of a plasma planet. altho Zophah i like where your coming from in the game ideas, i think turning a gas planet into a nebula wouldnt really be something we should do, b/c a nebula in itself might have planetoids and things inside of it, so to colonize a nebula would be to colonize everything in it. I do like Thon-Ni-Maa's living planet idea to, and just a build upon for that idea, those planets should still have some traits from other planets where life would be possible (Terra, Toxic, Oceanic) and therefor have different passive traits, like cloaking (Because as a living planet it should be able to move itself) or attack (because as a living organism, it would view invaders as a virus since theyre causeing damage through their weapons). all in all i like this idea and think it would work.

Thank you all for your positive comments. Thon-Ni-Maa wrote: How about Jungle Planets, or Death Worlds (Low population, hard to invade, no Mining possible.) For Jungle Planets and Death Planets, a transformer for a Toxic Planet would do nice. I don't think there are transformers for Toxic. 1. Jungle Planets Mission: Habiting the Inhabitable -> After Amorphous Research Reward: Habitable Terraformer Effect: Turns a Toxic planet into a Jungle planet: If size is below Very Large with Mining as the best resource: size +2, mining +1, artifact +3 If size is above Large with Mining as the best resource: size +1, mining +1, artifact +3 If size is below Very Large with Artifact as the best resource: size +2, mining +3, artifact +1 If size is above large with Artifact as the best resource: size +1, mining +3, artifact +1 2. Death Planet Mission: Habiting the Impossible -> After Habiting the Inhabitable Reward: Death Terraformer Effect: Turns a Toxic Planet into a Death Planet, increasing size +1, mining -all, artifact +3, passive Invasion Defense +350 Notes: Best used on a planet with Artifact as the best resource. Remnant Planet Mission: Remnant Binding -> After Habiting the Impossible Reward: Remnant Terraformer Effect: Used only on an Artificial Planet, turning it into a Remnant Planet, size +2, mining & research +1, artifact +3 Specific Mission: Artificial Readings Requires Complex Tech Parts, Exotic Matter, and 500 AP, energy 10 completions Reward(s): Location of an unoccupied Artificial Planet Artificial Planet Rare Always larger than average but no larger than Very Massive Mining: Abundant-Rich Artifact: Very Rich-Ultra Rich Research:Average-Extremely Abundant If you have anymore suggestions, feel free to comment. Off topic: Has anyone noticed that some gas planets with roman numerals at the end of the name have extremely sparse for artifact? I've seen two of them.

All these are good ideas but this will probably all have to come after Base Combat, Planetary Trade, and a War system. Dan should reserve like 2 months to do planet missions so we can have some fun new planets to keep everyone occupied while he secretly works on something even more awesome +1

We are more interested in planet ideas that are unique/distinct/different from the options already offered in the game. We are not interested in planets made out of cheese, goo, bubble gum, plastic, gold, tires, etc.

yea glass planets are more of a nah cause they are in that but Storm planets not as a oceanic but on a gas like Jupiter it has many storms and is huge So maybe since gas planets dont have a transformer. They could have some artifact that increases their resources by 2 and size by 0. Turns it into a Storm Planet. Plasma is the most common form of matter in the universe but its the rareist on earth. But to come out with something Unique is hard. But i know some of us can do it

Im surprised that some people think Goo would actual be a planet its like Toxic and Oceanics mixed. Gold i can see why because its a common mineral ( most likely ) but i think we need to upgrade the metallic with something besides dyson.

Ill pick my nose. That is toxic and oceanic mixed together. So I should be able to purify it and get water! Yo bubba. Want some Bugger Water? Anyway it is creative. We need creative. Gold is not creative.
