I've been giving some thought to how GL could be reskinned as a fantasy game and I started with the Stats.
Ship = Empire Decks = Buildings Attack = Defense Defense = Defense Hull = Fortifications Shields = Barriers Scanners = Oracles / Scrying Cloak = Spies Energy = Power
Minerals = Gold, Silver, Quicksilver, Gemstones, Mithril, Orihalcum, Loadstones
Upkeep = Food Stores
NPCs = Monsters, Bandits, Raiders
Research = Research, just into mystical maters.
Legions = Leagues
Planets = Cities Sizes (Village, Small Town, Town, Berg, Small City, City, Large City, Metropolis, Megalopolis, etc) Terrains = Swampy, Coastal, River, Mountain, Plains, Volcano.
Just a silly idea. But why have one game when you can have two at only 20-40% more effort?

the only thing is that dan would have to remodel all the images for the enemies. i thought at first he bought them, but then i found tutorials on how to make alot of em online, so i guess he actually makes em... the idea is interesting tho for those who are obsessed with fantasy gaming... altho i personally prefer scifi.

I'm sure that if he offered a few FL or GL credits per pic he'd have people lined up to help him with new images. I like both personally.

a) the reason it says attack=defense is because I had a brain fart. It should say Attack=Attack. Originally it said Attack = Armies but I changed it, but to the wrong thing.
b) Galaxy Legion is different not because it's sci-fi, but because it focuses on resource and planet management, and every part of the ship is useful even if you don't PVP. That's not the case with most other mission clickers, even sci-fi ones. Castle Age, like Mafia Wars, required you to buy useless things just to unlock missions. GL is far more subtle, tactical, and flexible. Ship construction and research and planet customization are what make it so. The sci-fi element is an overlay, like flavor text, the mechanics are the real gem of this game.

Remic, that's you. I'd love to play two legion games of this type. Having one be Sci-fi and the other be Fantasy would be nice. Plus, i'd love to be able to experience a Legion game from the ground up. Not have to play catch up to Nocifer and the others. Even if the two games played exactly alike, just being able to spend my energy in one then shift over to manage the other while recharging would make it worthwhile.
And I volunteer to write any of needed flavor text for Fantasy Legion. I think it would be fun.

I know. it would be cool. We'd have to reskin the races too. Might want to stay away from the usual suspects (Elves, Dwarves, Orcs) but if not Konquil should be Elves, Sillix should be Tribesmen, Mylarai should be dwarves, or something. Just not Konquil=Orcs.
Maybe Gremlins = Taltherians, Devils=Zolazin, Angels=Genetar, Mortals=Humans, Demons=Drannik,
and have Golems instead of Androids.

well there are reptilian races in Fantasy games to, i mean Konquil as elves is kind of a stretch considering, elves are diplomatic, love nature, and only fight when they have to. i mean yea orcs would be steriotypical war people, but there is also the Draconians, Which are a race of Dragon people, but just without dragon abilities (Flight, Firebreathing) but they love war, and can use magic and stuff just like other races. i mean its up to what they decide, im just sayin, that Draconians would be sticking to the whole, reptilian war race deal.

Really? Elves are diplomatic? Love Nature? and Only Fight when absolutely necessary? Been reading Tolkien again have we? Elves in Tolkien are isolationistic and only peaceful because they're a dying race. The elves in The Hobbit are just as keen to go to war as the goblins and the Forest King is easily the least diplomatic of the lot. Here's a realistic look at elves: They live incredibly long lives, can, in theory have a child roughly once every year, and have centuries to get very good at warfare. That's a huge population base if your society isn't in decline. Lets look at sci-fi elves for a second. Romulans are just as much Elves as Vulcans are, and the vulcans are only peaceful because they're scared to death by how violent they naturally are. They only live 200 years and they're incredibly good at violence. Eldar aren't the peaceful diplomats either, that's the Tau (if any culture in Grimdark can be called Peaceful or Diplomatic).
But lets go back to Tolkien and his incredible stereotype machine: Those elves? Legolas was a young punk and was a better warrior than Aragorn. Just one Elf was equal to 10 Uruks, and Each Uruk was like 5 Goblins / Orcs. Legolas took out an Oliphant by himself. They are insanely good warriors. But there are lots of interpretations of Elves that aren't treehugging wimps. Most fantasy has elves being far less diplomatic, often downright rude. They're snobs, elitists, and every world that doesn't feature them as Tolkien Clones tends to have them as warrior badasses. Even D&D gives them a bonus to bows and longswords... which humans don't get. That automatically makes an Elf a better warrior, especially since their Dex Bonus comes with a Con Penalty, not a Str one.

well im not making a LOTR reference when i say that, im making a WoW, Dragon Lance, and D&D (the one book i did read) book references. i mean dont get me wrong they know how to fight, and they will likely kick ya arse but from the books ive read elves (as a nation) try to look for diplomatic solutions, are not Hot Headed like Konqul are (just like the Draconians are), live peacefully with their enviroment, Dedicate their time to other things other than warfare, Where as both Konqul and draconians both dedicate their lives to warfare (altho given Draconians dont have a choice in that matter being a slave race). i mean, warriors they may be, and as rude as they may be, its b/c they view everything as lesser than them and that their closer to the gods. but it doesnt mean that just because you sneaze in their general direction that their gonna lop your head off (even though ive read a book where ONE elf did but he was a dark elf crime lord) as where a Draconian would. i mean, weather they like you or not, they tipically give you a sense of respect on the nation and would follow the rules of the land, where as a Draconian or Konqul would probly perfer to just walk around and do what they want.

The Konquil aren't hotheads. They aren't a warrior race, they're a soldier race. There is a huge difference.
The Wiki says "The Konqul are a race of rigidly organized soldiers."
Soldiers are to warriors as police are to lynch mobs. Soldiers train to be efficient, methodical, and tactically sound. They train to operate in groups and are indoctrinated in the concept of victory through unity, for the good of society. Warriors train to be brutal, violent, and overwhelmingly aggressive. They train to operate as individuals and are indoctrinated in the concept of might makes right, for the glory of Me, God, or my King.
Warriors build countries, Soldiers build Nations, and if you don't know the difference, it's a big one. Before the 1850s there really wasn't much of the concept of Nationalism, the idea that you were part of a country, that you could be proud of it. The British national anthem is a good example of that "God Save the Queen / King". People fought for their leaders, not their country. THe French Revolution and the American Civil War began to change that. It became about the symbols of a nation, THe Star Spangled Banner, The Tricolor, THe Empire, all the pink bits. National Anthems appeared right around the time of the modern olympics. Modern Armies were created in Napoleon's time. Before that armies were created by various nobles gathering and supplying soldiers... even in America many of the units that fought in the American Revolution were privately funded by their leaders.
Anyway, That's the major reason I voted against Konquil being Orcs, because Orcs are savages, brutal warriors, not civilized soldiers, which elves can and should be if they are a thriving society. And D&D / Dragon Lance elves are carbon copies of Tolkien's elves...and WOW elves are pretty much exactly the same, only sexier. And WOW elves, have you played the Elven Campaigns in Warcraft? They aren't that diplomatic. They are giant treehugging weenies though.

ok, well let me give you basic summery of the Draconian race. They were a race created by the Knights of a dark godess to create a Highly Organized and specialized group of soldier. The Dark Nights took the eggs of metal dragons (ranging from Brass to Gold) and depending on the egg they hatched from thats the type of draconian theyd become and each type of draconian has a different set of traits. (see Wikipedia for more info on that) These Dragon Soldiers, called draconians by the rest of the world, based their entire lives to training on the ways of war. based on your species of draconian you were used for different positions, (based on their position not actual name)
Brawlers: Would charge ahead to weaken the enemy, Not as skilled in warfare but the most numerous. upon death turns to stone, taking away any weapon that wasnt quick enough to be taken out.
Soldiers: the largest of the draconians and the best soldiers, would follow the Brawlers into battle, to comence the major battle. upon death, if killed by an opponent of same size or smaller, would shift shapes into his enemy, to drop moral. and can also shift shape into any enemy he kills, making them into a possible spy. in enemy is taller then they burst into flames.
Assassins: the fastest of the race, and their saliva can make a weapon poisonous. Turns into acid upon death. making their equipment useless.
Clerics: dark healing magic, minor offensive magic and tactictions or stratigists. quick learners and very good melee skills. explodes upon death.
Mages: Highest of the magical skilled, Commanders. upon death they turn into a flaming (litterally) Berzerker, as to take out as many of the enemy as they can before death, after a short time they turn into a lightning bomb and explode.
after a few years of being under control they end up breaking away and starting thier own respected nation among the rest of the world of Krynn in the Dragon Lance universe.
so as you can see they too are a specialized soldier force. and where as i see where you are coming from in the sense that elves are good soldiers. Konqul and Draconians seem to be a little bit more alike than elves and Konqul, in my opinion at least. im not saying that all those need to be game oriented ranks, i was just saying that they are a very specialized soldier nation as well. i mean obviously traits of individual members of the species will change just like anything else. but overall i think they are a match.
