First of all make mars large, mars is bigger than earth, because the moon hit earth destroying a big part of it, Pluto needs to be VERY TINY. according to reality terms, Earth needs to be small compared to all other planets in this galaxy or solar system, average is reasonable tho. The moon crashed into earth a long time ago, causing a chunk to come off and some to meld with the moon, so we are about average compared to planets in our system, but compared to all planets we are very small, Mars is Large compared to earth, by reality. So if your a scientist, astronemer you can correct me otherwise go watch history channel like i do.

Dude, Earth is bigger than Mars we learnt that in first school. XD And again when we went back to it in primary...

The Earth's radius based on the equator is 6,378.1 km
Mars' radius based on it's equator is less: 3,396.2 km
About half. (0.533x)
^yay for calculators.

If Earth is average, mars is small.

Gee, when I studied Astrophysics at University of Michigan back in the 90s my professors must have been full of #&$# then, because my text books clearly stated that Mars (Sol IV) was smaller, less massive, and generally less spiffy than Earth / Terra (Sol III) in every significant way. They also told me that the Sun, proper name Sol, was a Star, and not say a block of cheddar or a really bright light bulb. Since the distance from Earth to the Sun is ~93 million miles, or approximately 8 light minutes, and the distance to Proxima Centauri (which, by the way, is most likely part of a trinary system with Alpha Centauri A and B) is approximately 4.2 Light years... and since a year contains way more than 8 minutes, Sol is definitely closer... unless you're using some strange logic where the words closer and farther mean the exact opposite of what they do to everyone else.

Sirius and Procyon are the two brightest stars visible from Earth.

The Moon (Luna), is thought to have been formed when a Mars-sized body named Theia crashed into the still molten Terra. This is called the Giant Impact Theory and it is widely believed to be the most likely theory. It is also believed that most habitable worlds will turn out to have large moons, since that moon acts as a comet / asteroid / meteor shield, absorbing impacts that might obliterate life. Mars, with it's thin atmosphere, tiny moons, and total lack of plant life is both an easy target for impacts (especially since it is considerably nearer to the Asteroid Belt than Earth) and far less able to heal from said impacts.

That all said, This is totally off topic. Let it drop, you're either a troll or making yourself look stupid.

ok, this might not be the best thought of planet idea, so bear with me on this and feel free to work on it, but for a mission introduction or reward type planet, how about a Solar Planet

like the story behind the solar planet is kind of like the Dyson planet, an ancient race of Isolationists, developed a way to cloak a planet by making a sun form around the planet, emitting solar radiation out torwards incoming space craft, to give the illusion that it was a sun, but in reality its fake and inside there is a perfect planet well protected by the sun from outside influences.

1. Josh, please say you were trolling
2. There should be a planet boiler. Converts oceanic to Gas.
3. (joke) there should be an artifact called TIME. it converts an ecumenopolis to a toxic planet.

Ok lets take this one at a time. First goo. Its a good idea, and creative.
Bubblegum,
Quote:
Josh, even though its called smoked ham, it doesn't mean your suppose to smoke it.

Glass, I want a glass planet 0_0
Rubber, Boing, boing, boing, but I don't think that would be added.
Tires,
Quote:
Dude, you really need to put away the crack-pipe

Now, I think this should be stickied. A new planet type thread is always needed. and the whole world needs to see josh here.

A desert planet turns into a CRYSTAL planet not glass, and dont argue with me im quoteing what dan said on the new planet type topic i forget which name exactly Planet Transformers i think.
Goo isnt good its goo i mean its like oceanics and toxics mixed together.... glass just is a common thing Crystals sounds more creative.
Rubber isnt a good idea either to me, and tires is just lol bubblegum isnt even a planet at all so all those are probably out.

Logically it supposed to be glass but crystal sounds better. Glass is to fragile i could tap the planet with my Launchers and it would break. or i could scrap my finger nails across it sending out a sonic screech killing it lol.

No I don't think a huge object can be destroyed like that. Also there is such a thing as hardened glass. And where the heck did you get that the sun was not the closest star?

How about a fragile planet type that has excellent resources, but if production exceeds a secret maximum, the planet crumbles.
