this could be a new research line, the farther along the research tree you go, advanced ship modules cost 2% less space to be installed in your ship. so if it costs 100 decks to be installed and you have the first level researched it costs 98 decks. and I figure that at most there would be 10 levels of this research. but you'd have to burn a lot of research points in order to get to the last level of the tech.

i like this idea. its very similar to one of my module reworking ideas.
