I think having no delay for legion alert when u go to notify an ally to attackers that are pounding you would only enhance legion alliances and the ability to have good conflicts. Also the ability to only notify one should be changed to three.

Dan had extended the timer to prevent this, this stops dumbarses running off to legions and getting them involved in a was(like i do)

ok but alliances. not just random legions. ? otherwise an alliance is quite pointless ? having to battle ships in battle tab just to get them out of way so u can find the enemy legion creates more wars than prevents. And war is a major part of the game. Having alliance ships have to leave home and sit at your legion and wait for a notify seems cumbersome. Maybe larger confrontations occur over planets when many guards in place ? Anyway just getting thoughts on the situation.

If people want to go to war after getting hit once from the battle tab that's not the fault of gameplay; they're just looking for someone to fight.

all you have to do is hit the ship once and it should clear out of your battle tab. just hope you don't hit their halcyon or krionus virus, because then you pop up on their news feed.

Well, we have the NAP function to ally ourselves with legions, why not implement some kind of War feature. Both sides would have to agree to it, and once a "War" has been set in place between the two legions, then you could remove the legion alert timer, but ONLY for alerts between those two legions. If any other legion(s) get involved then they would have the same 12 hour alert timer.
