weird post...you buy facebook credits using paypal.
the only people to lose out are the old owners of GP, social gold.
i'm sure the same amount is sent to Dan as it was before...its a non-event

well before you could use cash from a bank account with paypal, now you can only use a paypal with a linked credit card

What are you all talking about? FaceBook accepts PayPal as a form of payment. And whether it's from your PayPal balance, bank account, credit card, PayPal buyer credit, or BillMeLater is between you and PayPal. I just used PayPal, through a checking account, to buy some FB credits. I could have used a CC if I wanted, or any other source of funds tied to my PayPal

it keeps telling me I need to link a card to the account, something social gold never did

First, you have to set your preferred method of payment in PayPal. So, if you want to use a checking account, for example, you would set that checking account as your preferred method of payment in PayPal (at this point, FaceBook has nothing to do with it).

Second, you have to link your PayPal account to your FaceBook account, so select PayPal as your payment method in FaceBook. You could also link a CC directly to Facebook (in which case PayPal would have nothing to do with it).

Done.

Click the [Account] dropdown menu at the top-right of your FaceBook page and select "Credits Balance". This will bring you to the Payments tab of your account settings. From there, click on the "Manage" link to Manage Payment Methods. There, you will see the option to add a new payment method. FaceBook is setup to do PayPal or CC. If you already have your PayPal linked, it won't give you the option to add another PayPal (the one you already have linked will be listed at the bottom, below all the text boxes used to add a CC) - it will only let you add more CC. If you haven't already linked a PayPal account, then you will have the option to add either a PayPal or a CC. Add a payment method according to your preference. Some sites that use PayPal allow you to select a PayPal payment method. I don't think FaceBook does this, so it will automatically use whatever preferred method you have setup in PayPal.

And, by the way, when you go to actually purchase FB credits, at the bottom, there is a link that lets you change the payment method there. It's as easy as selecting "PayPal", then entering your PayPal password. But again, how PayPal processes the payment is between you and PayPal. FaceBook or GL have nothing to do with that.
