Well i figure since we are always in need of scanners sometimes, why dont we make Astronermers for finding planets like does +1 Scan per astronemer and +2 Astronemers per rank point. Might be a bit overpowered but theres always some edits.

right now the only thing hiding our mission made planets is 10k cloak (20k if you have 100% legion bonus). adding astronomers would make mission made planets not immune to scan. cloaking tech for planets should be updated as well.. mission made planets should be upgraded on their cloaks too.

Whats stopping me from or any high ranking members with high enough artifact per hour diverting their rescued prisoners into the astronomers crew members. Dan will be opening a pandora's box if this gets implemented.

What about a new Artifact/Mission/NPC that gives some more Scan available like 350+ because i know some have finished scan, the purger mission only helps for so long and cost energy. But we do all agree we might need a little more scan right?

right now the maximum scan with all the ship components installed and all power ups in effect. the max scan is 12k-13k i dont have the exact number but thats about 700 planets that you can scan. you should always get purgers frim artifact shipoments so that once every 1 month you can purge your log and scan for more planets. Thats the only way i can think of.. at rank 526 i have 135 planets occupied thats a long way to rank 1000 but i'm guessing we dont need 1000 planets scanned anyway.
I believe the current cap on scanning is ok. and does its purpose

best thing to get more scan: dont count colonized planets as 'scanned planets'. that way once you purge everything you dont own ur back in business, and no game breaking features need to be implemented.

you have a repeatable mission that gives a purger for every 750 energy and 750 exotic matter... high end folks can purge one undesired planet from their list every 6h 15m... (not counting any purgers that come from their arti points) ...couple that with the planet trading that goes on in legions... i don't think a scanning crewman is needed
