 10 things everyone should realize

I am putting this in strategy because it is about strategy of how to play the game.

This is a message to all players. I have heard that many legions hear the same complaints.

1) A single attack that includes disabling, raiding, hacking is not considered farming. Farming is multiple attacks in a 24 hour period by one or more players from the same legion.

2) If someone hits you once and moves on, that is most likely a badge attack.

3) If you get attacked by more than one person in the same legion, it does not mean you were alerted, just that you showed up on both their battle tabs.

4) Firing artifacts at an enemy is an attack. Expect to be attacked back.

5) Even if you are running traps for someone, you are attacking, expect to be attacked back.

6) Don't think because you are a little guy, you get a free pass.

7) Realize that alerting a much larger enemy to your friends is basically say "Hey sheep, lets all go to the slaughterhouse together." Think about what you are getting your legionmates into before you bite off more than you can chew.

8) If you get your butt handed to you in a one on one fight, walk away and try to better yourself and your ship. Leaving obscene or bitter messages on your enemies comm is basically telling them you are a poor loser, a bad player and deserve what you get.

9) If you invade someone's planet expect all hell to break lose

10) Most players are good sports and will not hit someone when they have experience artifacts on. If you hit someone with a containment missile, expect them to pick the most annoying time to fire one back.

Most of all, Galaxy Legion is about battles and fighting. That is why everything (planets, players, NPCs) have guns. if you cannot handle a one on one fight or have a passive/weak rating and cry every time you get into a fight, quit Galaxy Legion and join Farmville. I also heard about some game with dolphins that may appeal to your sensibilities.

Here is one you should add. If you hack someone multiple times on an alert, expect retaliation.

I have this one guy who hacked me 10 times on a legion alert. Then he says he had 75 TM's and since he didn't use them all, that he was being nice. I retaliate and he says I have no honor. huh? very delusional.

I agree with this 100%. We hear so much whining, this is a game of attacking and being attacked. If you would not want your target to attack you in some way then don't attack them. Use all your interactions to better yourself and there would be no need for the complaining.

I too would only add, it would benefit more players to know which legions are allied together. Biting off more than you can chew comes in several forms.

Could you also please explain the following for me (I don't quite understand cause I m below rank 200)

Why would players with 400+ ranking would have zero to 750 defense on their good planet(s)? And when someone successfully invaded, they would cry about it and expect that planet to be return?

*I do not want to mention names, but I noticed many high rank have zero guard on it

Kaos has an excellent post on this subject. I will see if I can find you the link. But first you should realize it is not "crying" when you simply ANNOUNCE that someone took your planet and you are going to drill them for it.

I generally agree with MiracleOne, if you don't put decent up means of protecting your planet why should it be a shock that someone took it. In my opinion if you care about a planet then defend it otherwise don't take it personally that somebody took it. I'd be far more understanding if it took a well coordinated attack from several legionmates to take the planet or even if you stack it with cloak and someone took it, at least then you tried to do something about it, but when all you have on it is 1 meager planetary shield I say expect it to be taken.

In the past this has helped head off the almost inevitable "I am level 100 and I stole a level 600 planet. Make him stop attacking me because I am to little to defend myself" wining.

2) Defense in its current stage is rather useless for high ranks. If a low rank player cannot take the planet themselves, they sell it to NI or the Dy_es who can take it. To make my planets invasion proof I would have to put so much defense on them that it would make a 5X less productive than a very rich. If someone finds my planet (and most of my planets have 2000+ cloak) it will be invaded by them or by the highest bidder.

As an example.
Player 154 Rank finds a 15x toxic with 4000 defense on it.
The space needed to make 4000 defense reduces my mineral output from 300 to 200 (guessing) which makes the planet the same as a 1x planet.
Player 154 Rank knows he cannot beat 4000 defense
Player 154 Rank decides to sell the planet to one of the dozens of players that are strong enough to take it.
Legion #1 is to strong for me to take the planet back from.

So why lose production and build up the planet so the only legions that can take it are the ones I cannot crush?

I go ahead and put defense on, because the real numbers don't quite stack up the way they do in your example. You can get over 4000 attack and defense with only 4 space, and what would you do with that 4 space otherwise, put a +1 structure? That's very few points lost. I think when you really look at it, you can get quite a good amount of attack and defense on a planet for very little loss in resources, because you'd be using really low level structures in that space anyway.

It would depend on what you have on your planet. If I were to have a +12 structure and want to gain 4 spaces for defense I would lose 7 production, not 1.

No. Kaos said "if you...cry every time you get into a fight" as well. If you don't want to fight you don't have to; this game isn't about forcing people to do something, but if you can't handle other people doing it then you should go.
