i was thinking wouldnt it be cool if there was an NPC that you almost never got that reward all of the damaging players (bassically your whole legion) thats strength is matched to your legion strength is nearly impossibly to kill and you have a week to take it out after scanning and your whole legion needs to get in to help with it. it would give some sort of awesome reward. anyway who likes it?
heres how i picture it working Perhaps, but with a few changes. 1. It gives a reward to every legion member that attacks it(don't want to leave out the lowbies) but if a leader of the legion decides someone is exploiting he can ban him from getting rewards. 2. It's hull/shield scales with TOTAL rank of legion. 3. Attack/defense scales with average legion strength. 4. Drops the same 3 things to all players.

I like it, but I'd be seriously pissed if I ended up #51 on the damage list...

Something like that could be cool, depending on the rewards. They could perhaps even have NPC Bases, depending on how exactly Base combat works.

epic npc bases would rock... though, let all 60 get drops.... and dish out XP based on their contribution to it (plus a small bonus for everyone that puts a debuff on the npc, based on the debuff)

i like the idea of the npc scaling to the average legion strength. i dont think thats been suggested before. sounds cool! as for bases, im hoping NPC bases are incorporated into the base scanning system we'll get when bvb comes out. id like to see this as an actual ship enemy. something that perhaps dropped 2x stryll prisoners, a percentage reactor (even 2% max 3) and a percentage cannon (even 2%, max 4)

Hmm could adjust idea abit to be a ultra rare npc that attempts to lay seige to your base so its not found on BT but a random event based on level of your base, and poss a revenge strike, say if your legion has killed 10 Boss's/Stations belonging to one faction that week it will have a increased chance to retaliate.

Crystalline Entity 196040 shield 196040 hull 4539 attack 4537 defense Ability: Shard swarm(All megabosses have 1/50 chance to activate their ability, because all of the abilities will most likely be OP): 50% chance to instantkill player(It does that in STO, it launches instakill shards at you and you have to kill them quick) Rewards top 52 players
When you kill it: Misterspork is rewarded: Shard Launcher, ship weapon: 5 space 2000 attack Crystal Propulsion, ship thruster: 5 space 2000 defense Crystal Attractor, ship device: 10 space, Grants ability; Crystal Attraction; Trap, provides player or planet 5000 attack and 5000 defense upon activation, lasts 2 days. Usable once every 4 days. Costs(scales with rank)
I'm horrible at balancing, so you can think up any stats you can think up.

I like the entity, but the stats would have to be matched to the individual legion that was taking it out, as my legion can't deal with 4M hull+ shields

I really like this idea. But one thing I would like added is that the NPC can not be killed off until 40 active members have hit it. This would force most if not all members of a legion to participate up to 60 slots/members.
I would like to add that the reward would be inversely related to your rank within your legion.
Thus the weakest member that participated would have the highest probability of getting the best reward, etc....
This way the highest ranked members would likely discover the NPC need just about all members to help out and the weakest members would have incentive to help knowing that reward system is inverse. Of course the reward for the high ranked legion members would have to be good enough to get them to participate.

I'm horrible at balancing, so you can think up any stats you can think up. oh just hit it with a continuous graviton beam, it'll shatter in about a minute or two (that episode was on tv a couple days ago)
