Granted, some are better than others, and some are not. Some have a strategy, some just like to have fun. Some have a warped sense of humor, and some can't take a joke....
The whole "badge" subject is getting some attention. Players like to say "badge" just for the sake of grabbing a badge. Granted, I will hack, leave alone, and move to the next target to hack all for a 5 E badge. Disabling takes finesse, and a well stocked hull of Arts just in case of traps.
If I hack you, and you hack me back, touche', well played. If you disable me for a hack and grab that Red Badge, you will gain a more powerful weapon then a Blue Badge Quad Frame.
If you want to say that was fair, it was badge for badge, you are mistaken, it is not. It is now my turn to disable and raid you for one Red and one Yellow due to the fairness of said act.
If I warn you to let it go, and you cannot, this will turn ugly for you. If you continue this little tag game, I will grow weary of you tactics, and play the game as it should be and alert my legion, Pirates of the Cove, and let them badge the heck out of you. That sounds fair right? It's still badge for badge.
It is not your turn to comm me with potty mouth comments, and try to hide them with "***". I'm not 15, I can read.
44 mins ago From: Kurand hey **** bag, nice of you to bring some help in a fight you started. piss off you ****ing weak ass beyatch
I can and will disable you at will, I don't need to repair in the process. If I've taken 3 badges from you, I cannot take more until the time is up, If you stay on my tab, the process contiues.
Lather ... rinse ... repeat.
44 mins ago From: Kurand oh btw, this will not stop me, I will now and forever disable you each and every day
and as my comm said to you ...
From: DariousTheDark fair enough ... now and forever you are on alert ... now and forever Pirates of the Cove will badge you .. sounds fair .. bring it on
Because that is how you play the game.
Comments are appreciated, no thread jacks please.

I hack some guy for 40 lousy rp. Get hammered by his big bro (100 levels above me) and a message on the comm "Don't mess with us" - like I even remember who it was. Just another blue badge.

I've had ppl officer comm and otherwise complain for badge hits after they've been alerted for invading a planet, I just had to block the person because he started spewing crap for even deleting his comms (who does that? ppl look at it and then delete it). And actually the reason I disabled him was because he was whining about pvp on officer comms and I was tired of it. Sometimes I wonder about people, at rank 300-something should know how things work.

Badge for Badge.
Regardless of colour. You hack me, I disable or hack you. If you were disabled currently, then maybe a raid. Your initial action started whatever comes of it after that.

The this is, there is no hard rules and standards for this. So the best thing to do is play with: Do to them what they feel they should do to you. Will it work, not always.
Though when I am going in a hacking mode, I make a list so I know who on my tab I hacked already. So I at least try and max my badges.

What you are missing is that for your scenario, you were the original aggressor. A disable for a hack is thus appropriate .. you did initiate it. A hack and disable or a disable with a raid would be too much. And your alerting up for one on one responses of any kind when you were the aggressor is completely inappropriate. You have a funny sense of etiquette. Appears to me you follow etiquette only when it benefits your interests. I am surprised cove puts up with that behavior.
Also you say the badges aren't equal? when you hack someone, you left out the part where you have a chance to steal a planet location. I think that puts the blue badge way ahead of a red value-wise.

Andy wrote: A disable for a hack is thus appropriate .. you did initiate it. I initiated no disable, hack only. Andy wrote: A hack and disable or a disable with a raid would be too much. I agree, if I hack, hack me back, we are even. If I hack, and then get disabled, do not say "Badge for Badge" because a red for blue is not badge for badge. Andy wrote: And your alerting up for one on one responses of any kind when you were the aggressor is completely inappropriate. You have a funny sense of etiquette. Appears to me you follow etiquette only when it benefits your interests. You do realize you can only get 3 badges, and have to wait till that timer runs out, right? Sharing easy targets so my Legion gets badges? I guess you don't have a clue how this game is played, and what it means to be a part of a great Legion. Andy wrote: Also you say the badges aren't equal? when you hack someone, you left out the part where you have a chance to steal a planet location. Andy wrote: I am surprised cove puts up with that behavior. Being a Pirate, or playing the game the way it was designed? They would expect no less from me. Other Legions alert on a hack alone, be glad they (you) lasted as long as they (you) did. If someone posts on my comm foul language and tries to hide it with "***" and then says they will make it their mission to keep me down ... they will probably be quitting the game because they still have no clue how the game is played. I must say, it is fun when someone threatens you, and can't back it up. The name of this game is Galaxy Legion. If you cannot get along with your Legion, it will be a lonely game. If your Leader asks something of you, you better do as they ask. It is a group effort to be one of the most liked, or most feared Legion. It is not the effort of one, but the effort of many. (darn you for making me sound so diplomatic)

Some people get incredibly wigged out for disabling or hacking. Yesterday was the silliest. I disabled someone to get a red badge.
They then bring in a friend to take me out. The friend fails due to my traps. Then he comes and attacks me to get my badges and raids me to boot. Silly stuff indeed.
I see what went on and promptly disables both his friend (my level), as well as him again (to make him feel extra special).
He gets more peeved and gets his big brother (although only a bit over 20 levels higher than me) to get into the fray. They start hurtling a ton of artifacts at me, and disables, raids and hacks me. An officer in the league no less getting involved and farming me a bit so I'm laughing about this. Quite silly.
I finally retaliate and disable the guy (another red badge for me) as well as hack the guy and the hilarious part was the comm message about me lying that I disabled that guy. So for a little while longer, after the "officer" buffs up, presumably to try and disable again. I zot him with another containment arti to mess with his buffs.
3 against 1 but I'll take my lumps but some people take being disabled like the end of the world.

If I've already taken the badges, and can't take more, yes, I'm gonna share those badges with my Legion mates. That's the only time I alert. Andy wrote: Also you say the badges aren't equal? when you hack someone, you left out the part where you have a chance to steal a planet location. I think that puts the blue badge way ahead of a red value-wise. Something else for you to think about ... Critical Failures. So, if you hack me, and fail, now I get your planets location because of your error, does that now give you the right to go all out on me? No, it does not. It is your fault, not mine, and not the game's. Bringing me back to my original statement ... badge for badge. If I get a blue, and you think it's fair to disable me, get a red, and put you closer to that Cannon, I will take a red and a yellow in the process ... and then alert you so my legion can do the same.

You can play the game how you want to, and I'll continue playing the game the way I want to.
If you hack me, that's 1 aggressive action. Whether there's a crit either way.
I'm not set up as a hackbot, I'm setup to disable. You likely saw that then you chose to hack me. I will meet your 1 aggressive action with my 1 aggressive action, a disable.
We are now even as far as aggression. If you come back at me for my disable, you've continued the aggression. I will return in kind. If you alert, you're telling me "I can't handle this guys, please help." Regardless of your excuse.
You started it. I'll finish it. Regardless of the sequence of events in the middle.

Justcae wrote: If you alert, you're telling me "I can't handle this guys, please help." Regardless of your excuse. Or they are just an easy badge ... hence badge for badge ... right? You were just disabled by that member because of an alert, now you can grab any badge you want from him ... right? ... or maybe he was too high, and now You can only grab a blue from him because he is too high level ... it's still badge for badge ... isn't it? That same level guy you just badged, badges you, and then alerts you so his Legion can badge up ... now take your badges from all of them .... You have been alerted by one member, and that legion will disable you and take one red badge each while you hack each one that's on your tab. Now... is 49 Red badges the same as the 49 Blues you took? Don't say badge for badge, and color doesn't matter, because it seems that it does.

Get a badge, sure. Big deal. Silly to escalate to the rest of the legion to try and beat me with numbers. Attacks and disables happen all the time. To me, doing this is kind of silly but I guess that's how some people play it. I just don't play that way because then you're in constant battles like gang warfare. The game would get dull for me if I had to play it that way.
