Coth, do please give them a history lesson on ship traps...

My pleasure....
Ok kiddys its story time. Back in the day when GL was just starting out, there was like 18 artifacts, no CCers, Omicron Injectors were godly, minerals werent almost random numbers (they actually had zeros in them), and there were no traps.
So back then if you/your planet were attacked, you wouldnt know unless you were paying attention to either your HP or you planet's population untill you were disabled or your planet was conquered. This continued on for awhile (it was great) then people eventually started going "Dan, I cant play 24/7 but im very often attacked. Can something be added or changed so that I have some way of defending myself while im not playing?". Seeing as this was on the forums Barra, Headless, Noah, Agg, Kuren, Zhorgul, Dan, and I (we were the only people that did anything past a bi-weekly visit back then) debated a bit and eventually but quickly came to a conclusion that it would be nice and helpful if "Traps" were implemented. So Dan made the Omicron, Halcyon, and later the Krionus traps. People rejoiced, finally someone could have some kind of fighting chance against an attacker. But that wasnt all, traps also allowed the defender to know who attacked them so they would know who to look out for. Solving the problems we had on the
forums of newbs complaining about not being able to know who their attackers were FOREVER.
The End.
The moral of the story, put some traps on, stop complaining, and play the game. And if a trap that LASTS A WEEK is too much work for you go back to playing farmville. Im sorry but what makes this game so much better then the other facebook games is that it does this thing called challenging you. Its this little thing that makes things videogames and not traveling a website with colours. As a gamer and someone who has been able to play this game back when you were lucky to find a planet that had average mining, I refuse to allow you guys to whine and moan this game into becoming a piece of crap.
It must just be the new generation of gamers, back in my day if you didnt know how to do something or solve a puzzle, you kept doing it untill you got it right. If you were having problems with killing something in a game where thats common you adapted either your strategy of equipment. If you had a problem YOU DELT WITH IT. Now its just looking everything up and finding the easy way to get things done. Nothing but spoilers and walkthroughs, other people practically playing the game for you. I may have been one of the last of my generation but I will never forget what it meant to be one in the day. Back when saying "hey I had all 20 hearts and beat all the minigame in LOZ" meant you were a BAMF, or if you could say "Hey I beat FE without losing a single character on hard mode" meant youv done something considered by many harder then college.
So sorry but im against this, theres a way in the game of stopping the happen that easy to use. There is no need to add a whole other thing just to make something so easy, easier. And as a gamer who has seen the path that so many games are going on today I refuse to allow a good game to follow the same path.
