 New NPC Race and Artifacts.

This took some time to do. I know that it is full of spelling mistakes but you get that at 2 am in the morning

okay I have an idea for a few new artifacts and a new NPC race.

lets start off with the NPC race.

The Banhdarian Watchers

Not much is known about the Benhdarian race. All we know is that they are Mysterious and Ancient as time itself.

A Millennia of Millennia ago, Thousands of Spy probes were released into space by the Ancient Benhdari to spy on its neighbouring starsystems and then return. Unfortunatly the Benhdari space port that made the probes did not set the guidance controll system correctly they have been drifting through space long forgotten.

Beleiving that their previous attemp to spy on the neighbouring starsystems was hampered by the probes cloak not being strong enough The Ancient Benhdari reconstructed and Improved their fleet of interstellar probes, only this time they were programmed to realy information back to nemorous relay links that Encrypted the data and then relayed it to Relay Centres and Then Decrpted and transmitted to who knows where.

i like this : Planetary Destruction Bomb - Abandons and purges an unwanted planet. (cost 50 energy)

but
Benhdari Weapons Focus Artifact - Increases your attack by 15 % for 1 hour ( stackable with other attack inhancers) 10xp to use

Benhdari Energy Overload Artifact - An Artifact that you can use to increase your energy by 20% and energy charge rate by 15 it lasts 1 hour

are overpowered.

Final note - with the three aforementioned artifacts, you should have to collect a couple of them (say 3) to spawn the next level of boss.

Why are attack/defense scaled but not hull/shield? Also if it's scaled it would be a matched enemy, and thus have no rank range.

Again, way overpowered. Unless the super boss dropped it, it would just be stupid.

the story of them sounds cool tho. imo the best way to have an idea taken seriously is do not specify any numbers on modules, artifacts, or buildings. UNLESS you need to specify what they do. for example, when i usually suggest a new race/npc faction, i say it drops an attack module. that way theres no controversy about it being overpowered. but when i wrote my first mission chain and suggested that players recieve 'military rations' i had to describe what they did (2 hours of mining/artifact/research production) and most of all, dont specify stats on NPCs. there is a 99.99% chance that if dan puts them in the game, they wont have the same stats as you suggested. so next time, specify the level range if not scaled, but dont specify attack/defense/hull/shield.

when coming up with new races/npcs, the most important thing is the backstory and description, cause this is what dan will build off of if he chooses to implement it.

The Platex(Working on Name) Race
Platex are delicate creatures made of natural energy.
They are a more passive race and defend more than many peoples in the
galaxy. (+10% Invasion Defense or +40% NPC Defense.)(We kinda need one to match Drannik)
They have beautiful marshlands and forest.
They are known for their Biological research which involves genetically mutated plants.

Just something I whipped up in about 15 minutes.

Nice idea. You could tie a new race into that with a botanist, who could have a passive +25% research to all their Gaia and Terra planets or something, just a thought.

Nice idea. You could tie a new race into that with a botanist, who could have a passive +25% research to all their Gaia and Terra planets or something, just a thought.

To overpowered otherwise would have added something like
+10% artifact production on Oceanics, Gaias, Terras,and Exotics

When you specify ranks are you specifying the ranks that they're made available or the maximum rank the NPC itself reaches?

I didnt know that I just typed random letters. :P So suggest names but dont we need a opposite to the drannik race?

Containment Field - Removes all Negative effects from a Planet.
I mean who wouldnt want this... besides they guy that thinks this limits the Sab ability. Figured I post it here instead of multiple threads for artifacts.

Containment (Something) - Removes all positive effects from a planet.

planet containment cages and missile equivalents have already been suggested. and genetaar were the 'opposite' of drannik. they drop the attack of the npc so everyone takes less damage. having a race devoted mainly to npc defense would be foolish. at rank 346 the only npc that does more than 50 damage to me are rogue tech collectors and elites. some of the more uncommon npcs manage to hit me for 100-200, but for the most part, the great majority of npcs barely manage to scratch my hull. and with over 10k hit points i can take quite a few of em with me before i have to repair.

What about Invasion Defense? The Containment cage and missle were suggested by me two times I think a month or 2 ago just putting it here.
