 Repair Timer... Unnecessary?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but... why do we have a repair timer? And why is it 5 minutes?

I should be able to blow through my money repairing as fast as I want! :)

lol how often do you need to repair? i only need to repair once every 12 minutes or so due to my massive hull

They should remove the raid, invade and hack timers as well :roll:

i think its beneficial to new players. that way they wont waste energy trying to attack a planet they cant take b/c of limited ability to repair. thats the only thing i can think of

i believe the timer is good for new players. since it only affects the new players too

lower ranks is heavy on PVP the repair timer is there so you dont get disabled after you repair at the same time so that people cant abuse attacking and then repairing their ships to continue attacking other players.

on mid to high ranks.. People seldom repair because the shield alone can take much of the damage. specially if you have lots of defence + hull + shield.

When I am npc hunting I generally need a repair every 2.5 minutes. That's fully buffed with about 16.5k total health and 6740 defense slowing down the dmg to my ship. I also remove debuffs immediately with containment cages.

What are your stats, WpA09, so I can compare?

Dan, would you consider lowering the repair timer to 2-3 minutes? Or maybe just telling me it's there for a reason :)

Again theres a reason there are limits to the game. Your saying you know that but you dont because you want to take away the timer , also commonwealth wasnt thread jacking its called saracasm

Yes, I agree that there are reasons for the limits in this game, but I would like to know what the reason is. I do not walk around blindly accepting that everything is running exactly as it should be all the time lol.

Also, I know he wasn't threadjacking.. it's a joke.. :)

Its so that you have to limit yourself in situations such as this or PVP for example. Forces you to rely on artifacts every now and then.

i have 4k+ hull, 500+def, 128 attack. (but that is due to me changing into reactors instead of weapons)

1957 Energy (Without Relays)

Cloak and Scan Varies. Around 1800 scan to as little as 6 scan , cloak is usually around 200 but sometimes can be pushed to 600. I have some horrible hacking equipment have had a decent hacking career, althought i prefer to raid and disable people.
