I keep seeing so many ideas about new ship/planet modules and new planet types that i decided to go for something a little different...

1.) Planet collider- artifact, single use.

Collides two planets of the same type together (destroying both and all modules on both planets). Creates a new planet equal to the size of larger planet plus 25% the size of smaller planet (rounded up) all resources increased similarly. Population of new planet becomes 0 for one week after use. Player using artifact MUST control both planets. All players who have scanned either planet now have the new planet in their scan list. May not be used on planets of very massive size or larger.

2.) Planetary Armament- artifact, single use.

Transforms a Metallic planet into a Superweapon Planet. reduces size of planet by 3, reduces all resources by 5. 5% of planet's attack/defense is now transferred to ship of owner of planet.

and on that note... how about some spatial bodies which are not planetoids that can be controlled? (scanned for like planets)
the following are examples of spatial bodies that could be controlled (colonized) recommend: player can control 1 spatial body per 50 levels (plus 1 at start) OR spatial bodies are legion controlled (1 per legion base level) in which case resource bonuses go to base production bonus, as well as stat bonuses. What is given below is if they could be player controlled.

3.) Nebula- spatial body. massive or greater in size

high research, very low mining, no artifact, no population buildings. grants 10% of it's cloaking to controller (possibly base boost instead?)

4.) Ion (plasma) storm- spatial body. any size

very high research, no mining or artifact, no population buildings. grants 10% of it's attack to controller (possibly base boost instead?)

5.) Asteroid belt- spatial body. any size

very high mining, very low research and artifact. grants 10% of it's defense to controller (possibly base boost instead?)

6.) interstellar trade lane- spatial body. any size

highly variable on mineral/artifact production. minimal (if any) research. each trade lane controlled would reduce costs and increase selling prices of minerals/artifacts by 2%

7.) Gravity well- spatial body. small or smaller only

all resources are abundant or better. Gravity wells bend space-time of nearby planets, granting all planets of controller a 200 bonus to their cloak

8.) Comet- spatial body small or smaller only

low mining, high research, little if any artifact.

9.) Suns- spatial body. variable sizes.

Effects would vary by sun. controlling a sun would increase resource effectiveness of certain planet types (i.e. yellow suns [like ours] might give a bonus to terra planets, whereas a blue dwarf sun might give a bonus to icy planets, and red giants may give a bonus to desert planets)

almost all of these have been previously suggested. i dont have the exact threads bookmarked, so i cant post em atm, but look back a bit. the gravity wells are new, but other than that i recall everything being suggested at one time or another.

Yup, good Ideas, almost all are previously suggested though.

BTW: Gravity wells = black holes.... So I think hey should be Mega colossal and not allow anything to be built on them, but give a max energy bonus of 10% and a recharge rate bonus of 6 energy per hour.

actually a gravity well is a localized phenomenon much weaker than a black hole, they cannot be seen, but the gravity they generate can be weak enough that they are similar to a small moon or can be as strong as a sun and hold their own solar system. Unlike a black hole, one can enter the center of a gravity well and not be crushed to oblivion, and can still with relative ease leave the area of the gravity well. Scientifically speaking, it is posited that gravity wells exist in every solar system and are the cause of the extra mass a solar system has compared to its planetoids (see dark matter theory). As such gravity wells would be numerous, but most would be too insginificant to be noticeable, yet it is quite possible that larger ones exist.
(also, fyi... black holes are smaller than the head of a needle, the event horizon may spread to super colossal size though)
