lol I'm hoping he'll keep the cost the same and let us get " some " red badges back.

Since we did buy the MK I's and used some red badges to do it , it would feel good to know that we got something back from the cannon that we worked hard getting.


The analogy of stripping parts from an older model weapon to make a bigger and better one works for me ...
The only difference here is that we'll get some badges back to help make the " new " weapon.
At this point I'm not going to be greedy. I'll take whatever Dan will give us.

I think tough luck - no one forced you to use your red badges , they could have been saved up for just this sort of thing . Suppose in the future even better guns come out , will you all be on crying about it ? use your brains people and wipe away the tears !

why do punks like this have to go and muck up a good/nice debate in the forum? about something we all think there is an issue to discuss. we was all nice and polite and you REX had to go all insulting and crap, you suck...

i dont agree , and think there was a lot of moaning there . To give you all something to work towards it should take a while to keep interest - why should you get your badges back ?

I think there should be some kind of salvage value, same as when you sell a weapon, you get a portion of the costs back

There is a legitimate argument here. What are we supposed to do .. keep saving them up for the next set of Dominion Cannons that cost 260 red badges in 3 months ? No lets wait for the ones that cost 390 red badges that give 350 attack in 6 months .

The more I think about it , why don't we just save them up for a year ? Who knows what weapon there will be then to get with badges ?

How many red badges do you have ? ... 5 ?

With statements like you made you obviously haven't worked very hard to get all 4 cannons or you're a low rank and don't have a problem getting them like some of us in the 700 - 1000 rank ranges. There aren't as many of us at these ranks and it takes a lot of energy to disable each other so know the facts before you open your mouth with a blanket statement like that.

For high ranking players such as my self getting red badges only comes when using 2 null fuses. I don't have the money to buy null fuses. Earning a few red badges for selling my Mark I cannons would be a really big help.

Some kind of trade in would be good - maybe 50%?
Also, remember that red badges will also be used for base combat when it comes out.

I very much agree. A trade-in would be quite nice. Not knowing that upgraded versions were soon to be released, I purchased and installed my 4th Dominion Cannon last week rather than saving towards a Mk III. Would be nice if *some* of that could go towards the Mk IIIs. After all, 128 kills is 4 reputation steps - from Balanced all the way to Menacing. I personally have an Insane rep (currently 411 kills) - which means by rep alone I should have 3 Mk IIIs, but it will take some time to get even one - a bit under a third of my current kill total. To get all 4 Mk IIIs, I'll have to more than double my current kills. Something to look forward to and to work towards, no doubt, but still daunting considering I could already have one Mk III if all 160 red badges earned for the Mk I's had gone to that instead.

i think that you shouldget some salvage value from it. say you buy a cannon for 40 red. when it is installed and you sell it you get back the badges based on condition just like any other ship module. lets say that at perfect condition (or the best, i don't know what that is called) you get 50% of the buy cost back

Well when we trade up weapons or anything else, we get squat back compared to what we put in. If it is done with the same loss that seems reasonable, but you should only get like 2-3 red badges back to keep it consistent with credits lost when selling.

i agree i feel it would be a great idea to get some back in return it levels the playing field some even to the high lvl players

It would be fantastic to "Trade-In" a Dominion Cannon and receive some credit value due to effort it took to obtain red badges.

yep im sitting on 4 cannons that are basically obsolete thats alot of work put in to get them cannons then they upgrade the weapon in the battle market. i mean if it was you have to reasearch it would be ok but to get a crap load more red badges plus you need the red badges in base combat it would be nice to get some kind of a "trade in"

That's a lot of hard work that we did to get them and pissing off a lot of people in the process lol ..
