questions about the mission The Drannik Extinction

 i have the mission available but it says i need to hunt down a Drannik Archivists for Archive Chips. i looked them up on the wiki and it says that they appear when the mission is active but i cannot make the mission active without the chips have i just been unlucky and not able to find one yet? am i missing somthing?

If the mission is available then they will randomly appear in your tab.

once your on that mission you need to kill on the battle tab so they appear on your range. the long way is to wait every 8 hours and pray that archivist ship appears.

You find them on you NPC list , the NPC you get is random luck. If you don't get 1 you can wait for the NPC to expire and look again or you can kill the NPC you get to find 1 faster.

yes you gotta be patient, but i got 9 from about 60 kills today so they seem to come in groups.
