Secret Excavation site
Size 2
Artifact +2
Cloak + 1000
Limit 1 per planet.
if placed in a planet with 0 other ship scanned Secret Excavation Site gains + 1 to artifact.
(bonus does not disappear if the planet is scanned by another ship in the future)

Requires
50 Refining Lab Chassis (this is the only chasis without any use)
50 calming amp (to calm the indegenous population of the site)
50 Dark pyramid (to cloak the site from prying eyes)

100 energy to make

interesting idea. . .but it can also be used to freely find out if anyone else has scanned it. Like the thought process, but don't think the execution in this situation works

as like any other artifacts that dan has made. When the bonus is already in place it will not change even if the original condition is not met anymore.

Example.
Sillix Star port (Must be Sillixx race to build this structure, but it will keep its bonus if your race changes.)
Human training barracks(Must be Human race to build this structure,but it will keep its bonus if your race changes.)
Permafrost Sub-Network (if you put on an icy planet you get + 1 to research, if you melt the ice it still is +1)
DM79 Datacenter (if you put on a gas planet its only + 2, if you change the gas into a plasma its still +2)

The only requirement that the player needs to have is that this planet is not scanned by other players. Either its newly fluxed or you can always check with a flux probe to see if the planet has 0 other ships scanned. If the planet is discovered it still gets the bonus of + 1 to artifact. (but yes its not secret anymore)

unless it only checks when the item has been placed, like other items with conditional bonuses

...then if they want to see if the planet has been scanned after the item has been on the planet for a few days, they'd have to waste an extractor to remove the item and put it back on.... (or just use a flux probe which would be easier/cheaper)

This is best placed when the planet has just been conquered and you flux the planet. you can also use temporal flux if its a new colony that has never been attacked before.


checking with Probe planet flux is the cheapest way to make sure you get the + 3 artifact structure.
