Just a few additional notes here....I'm sure if you could have alerted it NI would have had your back, and I'm also sure it wouldn't have helped. By the time you guarded the planet, I just killed you and could have easily just warped you away, either way it only took 2 seconds to take it by the time you even realized it was under attack. No vortex deflector was used so we could have just warped guards away fast enough for invasion attempts (after all it's only a single click)
Also having the planet debuffed by 45% means that it wasn't technically at 20k when we attacked, I think with the extra defense on the planet it may have been somewhere around 13k after the debuffs were up.
One more lesson clearly learned here in case anyone was wondering, critical hacks ignore cloak.
I'm glad you got a replacement planet, I have to say after fighting so hard on the forums to get these passive defenses on mission planets, it seems like a bittersweet victory.

I am the one who hacked NotJoe's planet. And I was so shocked to get his Dyson. It must be PURE Lucky like won Lottery. I lost one of my Colossal Gaias, that I paid lot on QSEs, from Bender of NI who invaded in few weeks ago. I asked Bender if he would give it back. He said that he would think about it for 2 or 3 days. As I have lot of friends in NI. I waited but no lucky. And today one of my terra was invaded by Rendin from NI and Bender guarded it. So I knew that he won't give my Gaia back then I decided to share Dyson to The Dysonians. I am surprised that Dan gave you Dyson back. But if Bender give Gaia back, I would use Star Chart Purger to remove it to thank NI for getting my Gaia back. Now NotJoe gets his back and I didn't get my Colossal Gaia back Dexpertus

I'm glad you got a replacement planet, I have to say after fighting so hard on the forums to get these passive defenses on mission planets, it seems like a bittersweet victory. I completely disagree. Having been able to alert the planet would have brought in a influx of planet guarders who would have resume guard duty after being warped away. You would have never been able to invade the planet as long as there was at least one person on it. Even with 10 people constantly returning to the planet to guard it, it would have given me the chance to properly defend the planet. I would have stack arts and the def of the planet would have been well over 50k from just arts alone. So, while you sit there and think there is no stopping you, you're sadly mistaken about that. Fact is, you just happened to get lucky with the cirt hack, even luckier that the crit hack revealed a planet, even luckier that the planet was my dyson, and yet even luckier that i was in a situation where i couldn't alert the planet. You do the math on the odds of all those things coming together in perfect harmony like that. Nearly if not impossible. Heck, even Nocifer said that you guys had tried and failed because of a legion coming to defend the planet, i dont see why this would be any different. Is there something special about this instance of attempting to take a dyson over a previous attempt? Almost seems like the deck was stacked.

Even if the chance of invasion is just 2% each, passed through a legion of 50 members, the chance of invasion is as good as 50%. Of course there are many other variables to be factored such as how many members are online, how many are going to be online before the owner finds out, how many would attempt to use paradox generator etc. etc. But I'm glad to know about the changes that is going to take place because I think it is gonna be a good one.

I had 474 planets in my database. The odds of them hacking that planet are 1 in 474 or 0.21% There is a 5% chance of of a hack being critical. So, that's what, 5 hacks out of every 100. 1 in every 20. Of those 1 in 20 hacks which is critical there is also a chance that it will reward the hacker with extra RP rather than a planet location. I haven't done the math to add up the overall possibility of this happening but i'm thinking i might have a better chance of winning the lottery.
Because of the timer i couldn't alert. Maybe if there were separate timers (one for planet alerts and one for player alerts) things would have been different. I have absolutely no doubt that if i was able to alert that Ni would have had my back and the planet would have been well defended.
I flux probe all my top planets weekly.
Fact is, i paid for the terraformers to get the exotic as well as paid for the QSEs to get the dyson. I've spent quite a large sum (i'm known as the plastic king to some, lol) on this game and the main reason i bought the arts for those planets was because of their supposed ability to resist such attacks. Good idea about the planet and player timer alert change.

It was very interesting to see I missed it by a few minutes I think. I wonder what others would think is a good solution to the problem? Obviously the majority doesn't like the idea of losing their paid planets. I would suggest still allow invasions but the planet gets to be returned eventually, sort of like, it gets to be liberated by the owner in some way.

A Terra planet was taken from a good friend of mine ( Krauzen ) from you guys and I ended up taking it back after I warped a lot of you guys off while our guys were trying for it. I took it back and fluxed it fast.

I took it back and fluxed it fast. It's not the first time i've had a planet attacked in real time by a well coordinated group. I had a Gaia attacked several months ago and i got the alert out. Legion mates were guarding it within seconds. As fast as they were warped away they were back guarding the planet. It gave me the time to set the traps, adjust the pops, hit it with longevity followed by the cloning pods. We fought off the attack and i still have the planet to this day. I don't mind doing the dance, though, lets just leave my Exotic and dyson out of it this time, please

did nocifer say he had overcome the 10k passive bonuses before on an exotic? we did it a few days ago. It was even more of a long shot, but it only took a few minutes. I think it is the last post in the TSD thread

So either we are super lucky, or super full of creamy gooey awesomeness, either way your at a disadvantage.
The planet a few months back everyone got a chance to invade it, it wasn't a failed attempt due to guards, it was simply failed invasions. Jody was one of the very last people to try invading even, all of us had already attempted it, by the time you even knew it was happening it was practically over.
You're right, the odds of the series of events you have portrayed for us are highly improbable, so I guess that's your answer, we are just so full of awesome we overwhelmed the laws of probability into bending too our will.
Kneel before Zod.

10 people trying at 10% is a 75% of success. Thats what i figured out when i thought there was a minimum 10% chance. Once I figured out there wasn't a minimum chance it still seemed like it was worth a try. Then BAM, Rolar gets AlZymer's mission exotic that was only hacked 20 minutes earlier and alerted a few minutes before it was taken. My invasion timer hadn't reset and i wasnt going to use a paradox generator on that crap of a chance.
