Planetary Cloak
- Planet Cloak is only one line of defense, and relying on it exclusively is not a guarantee of protection. However, if you can get the cloak of a planet up high enough, it will be a challenge for anyone else to find it through traditional scanning. The maximum scan for various professions and races is tracked on the Scan Blitz page.
- When scanning for new planets, there is a first roll to check if the scan was successful. If it was, a random planet is picked from the galaxy.
- If the planet's cloak is greater than the ship's scan rating, the scan will fail (unless the planet is owned by an inactive player).
- If the planet's cloak is less than the ship's scan rating, then a 2nd roll takes place to determine scan success (the higher the planet's cloak, the harder the difficulty).
- A critical hack will add the planet to an enemy database regardless of planetary cloak
- Below is a list of current top planetary cloaking artifacts:
Planetary Passive Cloak
- Ecumenopolis Planets start with 700 passive cloak
- Aphotic Planets start with 1200 passive cloak
- Rift Planets start with 10,000 passive cloak
- For the standard "best" passive cloak option, see this forum topic. However, that analysis excluded the subsequently released Morphogenic Suits and Chronophase Receiver. Further discussion continued in this forum topic.
