Combining a whole bunch of ideas I think we need 5 more ship tabs to organize new modules: DesignHolds equipped: *1 Paint skin (changes your ship's color scheme) Examples: christmas, space camouflage, smuggler disguise, paladin, rusted, chrome, diplomatic, pirate, blighted, etc *3 decals (adds symbols to your ship’s hull with front, side, or top versions) Examples: legion icon, freelancer icon, pirate, paladin, sword, shield, etc *1 frame (adds a cosmetic set to your ship, may give bonuses) Examples: spike set, cargo ship, warship, barrier ship, science vessel, streamlined, retro, warped, etc DigitalHolds Equipped: *All previous computer modules would be moved to this tab Example: sha’din supercomputers *4 hardware systems Examples: supercomputers, data servers, comm systems, hacking terminals, hologram projectors, etc *4 software systems Examples: firewalls, archives, viral programs, advanced ship logs, booby-trapped programming, etc InteriorHolds Equipped: *1 command module Examples: Executioner Command Bridge, Drannik Interface, Crimson War Room, etc *2 science departments Examples: astrophysics center, medical bay, research lab, holographic simulator, etc *3 Armory equipments Examples: Laser defense grid, droid security force, laser repeaters, personnel shields, etc ConvoyHolds Equipped: *5 squads (named a convoy to include ships that would not otherwise fit in a hangar) Examples: interceptor fleet, cargo frigate, drone swarm, mercenary cruisers, etc BiologicalHolds Equipped: *10 organic systems (taken from NPC Monsters thread) Examples: Nightmare Beast Brain, Kraken Skin, Dragon Heart Reactor, Phase Web Shield, etc

no, it would seperate the silithon modules into a different tab, and open up an opportunity for more biological NPCs. The color changes would just reflect the color of the race ship, and the decals would be like a trim or a highlight. nothing fancy. the other modules would provide bonuses to crew and pvp, along with some other things. the convoy would allow multiple ships to group together and defend eachother. so lots of extra changes, not just 'making it pretty'. example of custom vygoid ship i did for an officer  ship color: navy blue decal 1: light blue trim decal 2: Neon blue lightining

Design: focuses on changing the appearance of your ship icon Digital: focuses on hacking and hack prevention Interior: multiple bonuses, mainly research and raiding Convoy: dealing with the ship suggestions that everyone wants Biological: for when more NPC creatures are added
Also, I intended for stuff like that Vygoid ship picture to be an entire paint skin.

As a request, can someone try making a picture for a Vygoid ship with blighted paint skin and barrier ship frame? I want an example of how this could work.

A barrier ship is used as a armored wall in blockades, so adding a barrier ship frame would add thick armor plates. By "blighted" I mean diseased, cancerous, fungal, and otherwise disgusting.

the blighted should be pretty ez its just picking a pattern like the lightning overlay , blocks a lil more difficult but can be done , vekno what program are you using to edit and can you save into png format if you need the png's i have the ship base files for all except konqul there a bit easier to work with when layering an image

heres my idea for the blighted paint job... but im way too tired to go and make the super armor plating... maybe tomorrow.  hopefully this is kinda what u were thinking... if not pm me with the specifics on the color and stuff.

Oh this would be so cool...oh, and thanks for mentioning my Kraken, and Nightmare beast stuff. This would be awesome, and add a new level to the game.

To be honest, this sounds messy... Really messy... And the way the painted ships look makes it look like a badly painted hot rod in my opinion  Very unrealistic. In the post about ships being personalized I thought and pictured it more like alliance logo, or maybe colored trim. But not this... Modules or even modular ship would be nice. Crew based tab I have to say is a must for future aswell. Interior systems is a neat idea too (security stations, auto turrets etc) But we already have that in a way. Stryll confinement chamber as an example... Overall, I do think the tabs need a bit of renovation and renaming. But whats proposed here or the way its proposed is again, a mess... To be honest, posting yet another new thread on this is making it even more messy!

It might get a little messy...but really, paint jobs aren't all that hard I suppose. Instead of adding something over the ship, it might look better if the programming changed the ship itself and not just it's "aura" if you know what I mean. Although interior, organic, and personalized exterior would be cool. It would make the game more fun, and people can argue who's ship looks cooler.

With the idea you've said maybe a Assignable crew like you have on Slient Hunter III (but without the fatgie) Say you have a Ion cannon with attack of 20 without crew it would increase to 22 with one Green crew member (new) 24 with one Experainced crew member (not counting the green crew member) and then it would go to 26 with one Seasoned crew member there would be a limit say 3 green 2 Experainced and 1 Seasoned, these "crew" could be trained with simulators and with combat experaince The numbers would coincide with modern Navy standards for that ship class say a Frigate would have 100 Sailers 20 Chief Petty officers, 9 officers and a Captain (your his/her's commander) something like this could poteinly make the game way more "in-Depth" then now.
