Can anyone help explain to me the attack/defense system in attacking and receiving attacks, cause I'm having troubles in understanding it. Thanx

Thanx when you target someone and click ATTACK, you are spending 5 energy to shoot at that enemy once... they instantly shoot back for free... both of you take damage (unless one of you has awesome defense or sucky attack), and you as the attacker receive XP as well you can keep clicking attack until one of you is totally destroyed... this is called a disable... they're not out the game permanantly, just temporarily until they log on and decide to repair well, i think that's the basics... simple enough?

I already understand that. I'll give an example
Earlier I attacked a guy with nothing, no weps, defs, shields, hull, all were none, I had like 150 attack (Since I just started), I attacked him and only did like 13 damage while he did like 50 back to me, how does that work?

ya it really sucks I got screwed on the "too many decks young padawan" too. attacked afew ships I should have had 0 problem beating and got my ships rump handed too me. Planing on doing some energy ramping for the next few levels to try and help.

Yeah, equation uses your attack and their defense to determine what percentage of their damage cap you do, so if they have a low damage cap you'll always do less damage.

In the long run they'll be way behind in terms of technology and thus experience a slow death in this game.
Also keep in mind that the Raider-style enemy you're describing has likely put their Rank Points into Crew instead of Decks, such as Tactical Officers and Helmsmen, thus their Attack and Defense statistics don't appear on the Ship tab as Modules, but they could be seen if you used a Weapons Probe and a Defenses Probe.

never put rank points into cargo unless you are really stuck. Its always better to send arts to a legion mate to hold onto for you than spend rank points in cargo.
It all depends on what you want to be doing, which also determines what your gonna concentrate on planet wise and what you research etc etc.
If you want to rank up fast then concentrate on energy and artifact planets. The best xp/energy ratio is from npc hunting but you shouldnt really think about doing this full time til you reach rank 70-100 ish cos you will be paying a fortune to constantly repair your hull and you will never have enough nano repairers.

If your target has higher attack and defense, Is he going to win all the fight?(unless i cri) Or he is just going to have a higher chance of wining?

He will probably win, but it also depends on how many decks you both have. If your attack and defense are only a little lower but you have much fewer decks then you could very well win.

Does lose a fight makes you take extra dmg?
Like if I am going to fight a tough npc, and I want to use least energy possible. Is there a point of stack some extra defense?

pandachan wrote: How come repair cost keep going up each time I repair it even though im on the same level? repair cost isn't determined by your level... full repair from a disable costs your current upkeep divided by 6 if your hull is only partially damaged, then the % of hull that's damaged is the % of a full repair cost that you'd pay if you've upgraded your modules, your upkeep goes up, and thus your ship repair cost goes up don't worry though... repair cost caps at 200M credits
