Ship Shields

In Galaxy Legion, Shields act as a second layer of health on top of the hull. While shield generators take up more space than hull modules and provide fewer hit points (Making them less space-efficient), shields automatically recharge over time (2% of total unbuffed shield per 'tick') when they take damage. Shield recharge modules can also reduce the recharge time (thereby increasing the repair rate), making shields even more effective during prolonged combat.
They can also have a slight psychological effect against attackers, as players are more likely to stop attacking you if they keep damaging your shields, rather than your Hull. Five standard Shield modules can be installed at one time. Additional special Shield modules can also be discovered or salvaged.
Researchable Shield Systems
The following Shield modules are unlocked by conducting research into Shield systems. They automatically become available to build once the prerequisite technology has been researched. You can fit up to 5 of these modules at once.
The current maximum Shields that can be obtained purely from researchable equipment (ignoring any artifact, Race or Profession bonuses) is from 5 Heavy Obviator Shields, which give 2795 Shields for 260 decks and take a total upkeep of 325,000,000 (325 million) credits per day.

Discoverable or Salvageable Shield Systems
These Shield systems can be found by completing missions or defeating certain NPC's in combat. They can be equipped in addition to the five standard Shield modules, providing additional Shield strength.

1 The Cyclobeam Charger is listed under weapons on the ship tab, not shields.
2 The Omni-Field Regulator will be displayed in the devices section of your ship stats, not in the shields section. It's listed here because it provides more shields than scanning.
3 The Q-Pedd Ansible, Titancore Reactor and both types of XRP Pack are listed in the "Energy" tab on your ship. They are listed here because they provide at least as much shield as energy (in the case of the Ansible and Reactor, MUCH more). Discoverable or Salvageable Shield Recharge Systems
These Shield systems specifically improve the rate at which your existing shield systems recharge (Repair) by reducing the amount of time between "ticks" by several seconds per module. They can be found by completing missions or defeating certain NPC's in combat.

Mission Completion Reward Shield and Shield Recharge Systems
These Shield systems are gained through completing a certain number of missions. Only one of each is available per player. Once received, they cannot be uninstalled, but they do not take up any deck space nor do they have any upkeep costs.
