How to Play Galaxy Legion

Galaxy Legion is a free sci-fi strategy MMO that runs in your browser. You command a starship, colonize planets, and join a legion of other players. This page covers the eight things you will do most.

Missions

Missions are important tasks that you can perform to gain rewards and experience. By gaining experience, you can increase your rank, which will allow you to perform ship upgrades. Missions require energy and other special items on occasion. More about missions on the wiki.

Your ship

Your ship contains different types of modules and increases your abilities. These include weapons, defenses, shields, hull, energy, scanning, and cloaking modules. Your ship also has a crew that works for you. As you gain new ranks, you can hire additional crew or expand the size of your ship. You can also spend your credits on module upgrades. Research

You will slowly gain research points over time. These can be spent on unlocking new items for your ship or structures for your planets. More about the research tree.

Planets

Scan for new planets around the galaxy, and colonize ones that are not occupied. You can build structures on your planets that will produce minerals, artifacts, and research for you. Defend your planets, because enemies who can see them may try to attack and invade. More about planets.

Trade

Buy and sell goods on the market. Gather minerals and artifacts from your planets as they produce over time. You can send minerals or artifacts to members of your legion to help them out. More about artifacts and minerals.

Legion

Your legion is your group of friends and allies who fight together in the galaxy. Your legion can trade together, defend each other's planets, and coordinate attacks on targeted planets and enemies. More about legions.

Base

A legion base is a central command center for the legion that is similar to a planet. A base can harvest resources and support special modules to benefit the legion. It can be upgraded with energy and other materials. More about bases.

Influence

Your planets can generate influence over time, which you can contribute towards various zones in the galaxy. If your legion has the most influence in a zone, it will become Suzerain of that zone and receive a bonus. Each zone offers different bonuses, such as increased production or passive effects. All influence spent in a zone resets in a fixed time period, so you must maintain your presence. More about influence.

Choosing a character

Every commander picks a race and a profession when they start. Each gives a permanent bonus, so it is worth a look before you choose.
